I don't mind, my thread was block-centric, whereas this one seems to be more feature-centric
I'd like to see some more animation with the model in combat. Purely aesthetic, mind you, but it would be cool to see the sword swinging different ways, or different punches when boxing bare-handed.

Glad you were understanding,
I would also like to see more animations, maybe a new
pickaxe swing or sword swing? Or maybe they could
add new attacks with the sword. Or assassinations.
I'm just gonna say this: I didn't spend $60 (RAM + cost of game) so someone who pays $20 can get more features than me. Don't get me wrong, I'd like more features and things that you have mentioned, it's just that I don't want that to be xbox exclusive.

This is a signature. I have literally nothing to put in it.
If you're a small map maker, send me a PM and if it's good enough I'll advertise it in my sig.

I know how you feel, you don't want the features
to stray to far from core gameplay. Just relax, all of these
are ideas. 4J knows what the fans would like and not like, trust me.
what about glowsticks using slime and torches to craft or something so you throw it down a shaft to see whats down at the bottom with out climbing down

I like the glow stick idea. I would like to be able to glue or weld blocks together so one piston could move an entire group of blocks.

Anything of particular excellence that makes an xbox exclusive will be made into a user-made mod for PC minecraft eventually, I can guarantee it. What's the big deal?
How about a glider? Save yourself some falling damage when you're forced off of a ledge, or enjoy a great view as you intentionally toss yourself off a tower.
It would work by slowing your descent (as if attached to a ladder?) and causing you to move in the direction you face (at walking speed?), but sustaining damage in the process.
Crafting it might require sticks and wool and have a low durability because of how easy it would be to gather its materials.
Because of the glider's utility, it might be more balanced to have its crafting pattern require paintings as well as sticks.
Example 1 (Though a drastic difference, replace paintings with wool if balancing or convenience dictate it):
Example 2:
Example 3:
To use, press LT while falling with it in your hand. Your descent will slow and the glider will be damaged while in use.
Or perhaps the glider is placed in the environment like a cart or boat and you ride in it (This method shouldn't have durability loss). Press LT to "wear" it. You won't be able to use any items or break any blocks while in the glider, but you will still be able to walk around like normal.
Better yet, a hybrid of the two. Press LT with it in your hand to "deploy" it. This will place you in the glider, preventing you from using items or breaking blocks, but doesn't require you to place it beforehand. Press LT again to exit, resulting in the having the glider back in your hand like an inventory item. This method should definitely have durability loss and might not allow walking.
That was 2 different thoughts, guess I shoulda put some space between them.
I like the glow stick idea.
I would also like to be able to glue/weld blocks together......
and slime would be a good glue ingredient too.
Blocks already glue themselves together, just place one next to another. I think I need some elaboration to properly understand what you mean.
Well, pistons would be the only thing I can think of that a dedicated glue would make a difference with. Which makes it pretty cool, imo. It would definitely need some limitation to the number of blocks that can be pushed per piston.
Its behavior with sand and gravel should also be considered. It would be really far-fetched to have glue hold a mound of sand in place. Only the grains that are actually touching the glue would be held and the rest would fall away unattached.
I don't think glue should work on sand and gravel.
Unless... A new block is created by combining sand or gravel with slime to cause it to stay where you put it without falling (the slime would be mixed into the sand rather than just touching the side of it). This new block would then be able to be glued to other blocks.
Yeah pistons are what I was referring to with the glue idea. It would simplify current redstone contraptions and make completely new inventions possible. like a castle gate, instead of having pistons on top and bottom to open and close the gate, the fence posts could be attached together so only sticky pistons at the top or bottom would be needed. And yeah it should only work with solid blocks, not those affected by gravity.
Wow guys I am seriously impressed with these ideas.
My favorites:
-Glider
-Glowstick
-More animations
-Optional Kinect usage
-More mobs
-More food
-Exclusive biomes
yeah having glow sticks to throw down in dark areas to see whats there with out climbing down would be really useful also the torch should always give off light it would be more realistic and cool
Pros:
More damage than arrows.
Sticks in the mob and you can pick it back up.
Only requires your hand.
Cons:
Only be made in iron/diamond (10 stone throwing knifes...not gonna work).
Doesn't go as far as arrows.
Loses heath after each throw.
I think this would be a great edition to the xbox. Because of damage and you only need one iron/diamond to make it, it would need to not have a long lifetime.
I'm not sure if its been said in here, but its worth repeating because we need this far more than we need more items added to the game.
The Xbox360 game needs your inventory to be the same in all worlds. This would address multiple problems- like, for instance, the size limitation of the map- the moment I found out the map had a limit in size, I got terrified about things going "extinct"- as it is, I have a tiny desert, and am constantly worried someone will mess with my cactus stockpile, or that my girlfriend will harvest every last red flower in an attempt to make a mario sprite....not to mention my challenges with lightstone.....allowing me to make another world and carry over the things I find to my main world would make a huge of difference....
Not to mention, whenever i go to a new world, or have someone come to my world, i'm at their mercy for tools, food, and armor. In our world, we keep multiple "guest houses" to give people a chance, and feel welcome- but if they even have the option to come with their own food, armor, and weapons, they could really have a fighting chance- not to mention be prepared if they're unlucky enough to join at night....
What do you think? I'd say that simple tweak would really improve and repair alot of the problems when the game went from an unlimited sized world to a limited one...

Hmmm.....
I like this. Maybe they could bring a chest in the game that is similar to the ender chest
but takes things to a different world. That could work.
And there are rumors of 4J increasing the world size and since everybody
keeps talking about it 4J had to of considered it, so hopefully we see a world
increase in the near future.

And I want to be able to make Saddles. Probably out of leather, string and sticks!
