I'm excited, miserable and bored until we see new features. I feel like nothing is productive on a survival world at this point when 4J is teasing everyone with new updates.
I was playing on a friend's world and she had a slime grinder that was cool. It got me thinking about how I will acquire enough slime balls to make slime blocks for later use.
The result is my first auto slime farm.
Above Here is an x-ray of the entire farm. The slime chunk is near my base, so it is always active. There are eight spawn platforms that are 16x16 blocks. It took a few days of digging but with the help of an efficiency IV diamond pick, a few TNT and a beacon with haste, it wasn't too bad.
How it works Slimes spawn on one of the eight platforms then begin hopping the same direction until they fall off the platform and down into the water streams. The streams push the slimes into the kill box (located at the 3x3 glass seen at the bottom center of the picture) where they drown and drop their slime balls into the nine hoppers there.
The farm is very similar to other versions already out there. This is a survival farm, so I built it based on resource management and console game mechanics.
Here's a few more.
Made a few friends along the way.
Slimes being funneled into the kill chamber.
Another view of the kill chamber.
I tried to take a screenshot of the collection chest inventory, but it doesn't let you. Maybe 4J can change that. By the time I finished building the farm I already had 15 stacks of slimeballs in the chest. I think I'm off to a good start.
I hope you all enjoyed my share. Please tell me what you think about it. I always enjoy seeing what you all have built, so please keep sharing!
