First I would like to say this is my second world I have been working with most. My first being what I call Arcavia. This world just like my Arcavia world is done in survival only; untouched by creative. What makes this one different is that this one I actually do play in easy for the most part, and certain things I do in peaceful; You will see that later.Note: If you can not see any of these pictures, then just visit the link they go to. Unlike before IE changed something where I can not get a direct link anymore. I will figure that out later... Finally figured that out. I used firefox in the past, chrome works as well.Ok First a nice view from spawn and one of the first villages:
Main Base:
This place is where you would expect it, at spawn. Trust me it is there, I just have not made the couple of entrances look
well. Honestly they look like mountain with a door in it. Basically the base is right under where you would spawn, the
first pic shown in all this. When you step inside this is the first room:
The areas below are the many sections I have devided the place into so far. First is the areas near that 1st one:
This is just what I started out with making, since I needed a small farm while I worked further. The second pic is just
what lies on the other side of the chests you saw in the initial pic. Yes I needed a bit of storage for materials, and
wanted to separate a few things from each other.
This place is actually not so close, but close enough since it like the other 3 pics are on the first level of the place.
I didn't quite make this untill I had a decent branch mine going, and after I ran into a batch of lava. This sits atop my
lava storage, or rather it is above it; well one of the rooms.
Stairwell:
This is the stairwell that goes down about 3 flights, well 3 switchbacks downward. The 2nd pic is a place that I have not gotten to yet, as I have plans for it. Although I did a bit of work it is not much, as it was only minor touch ups after the TU12 update.
Here is the last short staircase that leads down into the mine. The main touch up was the little change from solid wood along the roof to just beams going across, as you see in this picture.
I really despise gravel. I had to replace a few areas down this stairwell with smooth stone, lighting, & wood. I counted the stairs when I made it so it actually goes roughly 12-13 down at a time with each switchback; for the exception of the bottom stair leading into the branch mine.
Branch Mine:
I have shown this before when I was showing someone else about how I light up the place with pumpkins. This is My Branch Mine Entrance area that splits off into 3 directions. The fourth being the path down into it mentioned in the stairwell pics above. that I believe is behind me in this pic.
Even when I am working on my 2nd level, in and around my tree farm this place seems to get pretty crowded. As I have mentioned before in a few places, I must be lucky, since this area I dug out I just happen to coordinated with my branch mine. The slime chunk I could extend 2 more 16x16 chunks to the right, but at this rate I get all the slimes I would ever need just for work in other areas of my base. ><
Actually I was really surprised to see this many, usually it is only 2 big a couple medium and a few small ones. Ok I see a lot down here. When I use my mine, which is currently not in use, I still get build up like this. The stronghold portal room is actually above the back wall to the left, which is something I am not going to dig into at the moment. I want to find another way in. The reason I know this is the scurry sounds of Silverfish spawning in that specific corner of the slime farm.
Second Level:
From the stairwell it is the first flight of stairs and a left through the door. Many people seem to have not noticed it when pacing it on tours, till I pointed it out to them. lol. This room technically started out as the basis of my Tree Farm, hence the colors.
The spruce farm is actually the central area, while the birch is the right area, and oak not much has been done to due to my lava storage. At first it was this place that was a small lava pool, that inspired me to make a lava storage in the first place. I wanted a tree farm here so I had to put the lava somewhere. At the time I had no diamond tools and pouring water on lava is just not my thing in my own base. takes a while to mine obsidian as is, even with the right tools. Anyway there has been a lot that I have done in this area since TU12, although it might not look it.
You can see the birch farm in the back left, as this is part of the walkway that wraps around most of the spruce farm. There are a few entrances to other areas including the one to the left. The one strait ahead to the right of the birch tree farm is the entrance room that you can get to the stairwell with.
Yes another view of the spruce farm, but from the top of the walkway. What I want to point out here is the lava storage. can you see it? Yes it was that close when I dug my lava storage out. You'll understand what I mean when you read the lava storage section.
Crafting Area:
This is one of the new areas I made recently. It is that left entrance I was talking about in the spruce farm. This is just the basic area, which I deem unfinished due to the fact I am unsure what I want to put to either wall.
If you go down the steps in the crafting room you get to this little room I made. yes this room is merely 5x5 roughly, can't really say much about the height. The first pic shows a view you can see from the crafting area, when you take one of the side stairs that leads up to that back wall. I wanted to do something compact and not so big, as I am not really all that well in redstone, even if I could follow a design well enough. It is just a simple DIY couple of rooms, with at least I think a decent look to it.
Storage Area:
This is only one area if you don't count the one in the spruce part. If you looked at the walkway pic in the second level then this room is accessed behind you in that pic. I did a minor touch up to this room today. Making that right wall not completely double chests. The left side & back wall are my bulk storage plus miscellaneous stuffs. Bulk on left, Misc. on back. I plan to use the individual chests there for materials I wouldn't really get a whole lot of.
Lava Storage:
You have only heard part of the story why? Well I needed a place to put the lava, as I said. What I did was went outside my base along the mountain to dig another entrance a bit away from the main one, and that is what started this long project. I actually only got 2 rooms fleshed out beyond the top room that is the entrance & part of the first. I didn't realize how close to the tree farm I was till I started digging out my spruce farm. I put the lava that was in there in the first room. Trust me the place was small at first and now it is what it is. I actually figured out mathmatically cordinating where each walkway would go and what it will be made of, as I don't want it catching fire burning the farm down. That took a lot of thought and careful planning on my part.
This area is actually the second room I dug out. The first one I didn't get any pics of as of yet, as I am actually currently working on parts of it. Yes most of these will be not much lava. At least there is some there so far. I can always get more, but right now I am trying to do some finishing touches on the whole area that is my lava storage. It is actually this room you see in the spruce walkway pic that I mentioned.
This room is easy to find. My furnance room recently built in TU12. Notice the redstone lights in the other pics, that is the entrance to this room. so much water spilling in. didn't know I was close to any sort of water till I broke through building this room. which is something i planned with the next one below:
This is what I call the river room, which is also recent in TU12. I had to plan this one out since I knew there was a river above. Of course due to jungles being added and this is a TU8 map, well I'll just say the water is now freezing in some parts. I actually put some glass on the roof of where the river is. Barely seeable in the pic to the upper left. Trust me it runs to the length of the room at the back wall.
What I plan to do with this is to have 4 distinct rooms. The 4th I have not dug out completely. Of course not that you course access it with normal means, you would burn before that happened. Yes there are potions, but that is the only way you would even get to see the fourth room when I am finished with this project, more or less get to the room. The idea behind the storage was to make it big with dwarven in mind. Not that it matches the style just the fact it will be a mini version that is still pretty big on its' own. The idea anyway.
That is my base currently in a nut shell. I know I didn't make too many pics of it, but I did get the important parts, as I am actually working on certain sections including the lava storage that is not filled yet. When making an underground base this is the usual way I go about things. Start with a hole in the side of a mountain/hill and branch off from that.:D
The Road from spawn:
This is the style of bridges I use. In front you can see the next destination. Behind me is my Underground base, which I will have pictures of eventually. This is the first thing you see along the road to the first village and the closest in the Spawn pic above. This place is where I finally decided the nether portal should go. I needed glowstone for those lamps. Since this is part of this region I actually went in the style I prefer building. Each tower including this one is different slightly. This one is actually wider, so it matches with the portals width better. In a way it is oval shape base unlike the circle shape base of the rest in the village; you will see after this.I did build that tower in easy. Creepers made it a little tricky to get back to the bed in the village.><
Village 1:
It took me a while to get things remodeled and figuring out this and that what I wanted to do. Basically the style I guess is Asian, but I just call it my own, since I did figure this one by myself. I matched this and that and got the look I actually wanted. It may not look the greatest, but I am satisfied with it.If you look below are the couple of towers I built with the wall included:
This is a view from one of the other towers:There are a total of 4 towers along the wall, that is including the twin tower one in the first pic. This wall I actually did in peaceful along with the towers within this village. I really wanted the wall done soon as I could, so peaceful was the most less troublesome option.
Blacksmith:
This took a bit of thought as you could see. I always have fire spread on. So I had to think with the build, plus I think it turned out nice. Better than I would have hoped.
Cow Farm:
Should I even say something of this. Oh yeah, that villager you see in there actually fell into that place ruining the wheat that was originally there. So this place was the last remaining building I remodeled from the original village.
Well:
This is looking down from stairs towards one of the entrances of the village. To the left you see a house and right is 1 of the farms. Blacksmith beyond the well.
Pumpkin Farm:
This is something I just remade into. I basically made a small farm into this. Yes just walk in and it auto-harvests, noticeable in the second pic with the pumpkins flying up. Piston based. All it really does it push the dirt below the pumpkins up and pulls the dirt back down. A simple redstone device.
Main Gate:
This is a Piston Door Gate. not so simple redstone, yet not very complex either. This gate works with buttons that go into an old T-flop I think. This is so the buttons act like a lever. I do have a lever attached, but that more or less locks it into what ever the next Flop position is in. One reason I kept it.The First pic with the door closed is obviously from the inside, while the other from the outside with the door open. It is a 2x3 door, that is 2 high 3 wide. Nothing really fancy unless you look at my next gate; which is the most fancy and simple gate you could ever make.yes it is that simple, a fence gate. Some people have said they have seen villagers mess with fence gates on here, but I have not seen the do more than hover around them. Other wise my cow herder would be loose in the village.
Houses & General Pics:
This first one is one of the simple small houses, seen on the hill to the left; and the L shape house, on the right. The L shape one was buried into the hillside, so I had to dig up that entrance you see there. I haven't got around to using the upside down slabs in that little walk around to the entrance of the house, but at least there is a way to it.These are just a couple general views of the town. In one of them you will notice the chicken farm. It is the only full building with a birch roof.
There really isn't much to say about this village, except for the fact I did all this on easy; minus the wall & towers. At first this village was surrounded by a lot of fence. Looking back now I guess where the wall is now is where the fence roughly was all around it.
Around the bend of a mountain you would see this:Village 2:
This city was something I enjoyed building, but for me was a pain to build. I just don't like building in this specific style. You will see quite a few differences from the first village below in the many pics. The Main Gate:
This is my porticulus gate I built from an old design from youtube. It is not my design by default, as I only modified it to fit in that spot with a bit of slightly different wiring. It only uses regular pistons. On each side there is two buttons. 1 to the left and 1 to the right. It is inverted which ones opens and closes depending on which side of the gate you are on.Nothing really special, but not a easy design for a novice at redstone. Not advanced either, so those that at least know the basics would be able to figure that one out.
Main Street:
This is the first street you will see going through the main gate. If you notice the difference in style right off from this pic, it has that parkour value to it; or so a few people I have given tours have said. So I kind of stuck with that. In a way it was what I was aiming for. The persian feel of Aladdin disney movie... Not the building style, the feel that things are close together and you could essentially go from building to building or well most of them by using a parkour route of some kind.
Towers & Tower Views:
This is one of the first couple of towers I started building, and actually built them together. The second pic shows the view from one of those towers, which is the highest point in this village at the moment. This is one of the towers in the strait section. I figured I would show one of them that actually has access to the outside. Just walk through that door, another door and a fence gate, and you are outside the village. These two are from the same tower, just looking out in two slightly different directions. Also note this is one of the first towers you see coming around the mountain if the city didn't blind you with all that sandstone. Oh wait that would be during the day. The village blends in somewhat during the day better than the night, which was the other thing I was going for in this remodel.
Farms:
This is the best view of this trio of farms I could get. The one on the right I modified a large farm to include pumpkins, and no it is not auto-harvest. I might decide to do that in the future, but really didn't feel like it at the time. That and I didn't have enough slime balls. What you see on the left, or what little you see is actually originally two small farms that I conne
cted together adding sugarcane in the middle. I like the way that one turned out.
Custom House:
This house is Jamziboy inspired. It is only slightly modified from what his would look like. After all I remodeled the smallest villager house into this. Actually it was the only one of its' kind in this village. If you notice in the town views from the towers, there are other small houses. A couple are those tower house ones, while one I actually built from scratch with village generation in mind.So this was one of a kind, and I made it more so in this village.
Golem House:
You wander where a golem would live in a village right. It just so happens in the initial spurt from the update that this golem actually spawned inside the house. It is the second golem of this town but not the second golem this town has had. I had to kill one, because it decided to attack me. It respawned in this house. The first golem actually wanders around in the bigger areas. I had to get him unstuck between housing near the custom house. That was where the second golem was too, before I killed the outrage.
Village General Views:
I guess the people who mentioned parkour about this town was right, even the villagers love doing it. These all are different angles around town from various locations. There really isn't much to see but at least the town is somewhat the way I had envisioned it. Close at least.
Side Gate:
This is the other major entrance into the village. A simple gate like the other village.
Overall this village took quite a while to build, and this one I did it all in peaceful, since I really didn't want to deal with mobs at the time. I mainly work with the first village, but occasionally come back here to add or doing something else.
Most of my work I do in easy, for the exception of what I mentioned above. Doesn't mean I run into many mobs. I just work as I go, and currently on my main base; which is not shown here at the moment. I can only hope the pics load this time around, as if they do not, I will see about fixing that some way or another.I hope you enjoyed what you saw above. I enjoyed making most of the items above, and continue to add at a slow pace, kinda like my first world, which I am still adding to. I just haven't really added much at this time. EDIT: Just replaced the photo links with actual direct photo viewing.
Wow, this is really cool! When did you start this?
TU8 actually. It is 1 of the 2 primary worlds I work with. Maybe slow progress, but that gives me time to get it the way I want it to look. I have been working on this one mainly more than my Arcavia one in my signature.
The pics don't really do it justice I think as you can only see certain angles of what i built. I may not be the best, but I like what i have built.:D
This is nice! I always like looking at worlds created in survival. +1
I kinda feel the same, as creative doesn't give me much inspiration as a mine I dug out myself. In a way this is true since there was actually very little terraforming on the villages themselves. However I can not say that is so with my underground base on the same world. I'll see if I can fix the photo thing tomorrow so it can be seen directly here. Eventually I would like to at least show a few pieces of my underground complex; if you were wondering where those are here. that was a lot of pics just for the 2 villages.
There is a third one on the map, but didn't really think it was really al that worthy to remodel since it is on the edge of the world; that and is cut off to some degree. I was thinking on making a custom one and relocating the villagers there from the third one, just haven't got around to that due to extensive work I have been doing on my lava storage.:D
Thank you for the compliments. It is nice to see people enjoying what I have built.:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Finally got the pic links replaced, so that people that do not want to follow the links can view them here. Which I believe is a lot better, and makes it a bit more less of a hassle. After all the photos do string along with what I wrote.:D

Nice work, Tamorr. Man, the sandstone and spruce looks good!. I haven't used sandstone much. I think I've just been inspired!.
That took a bit of fiddling around in creative on my separate world to figure out what materials I thought looked good together, but I got to say it turned out decent and pretty close to what I had in mind.
glad I could instill inspiration in someone.:D
Sandstone isn't really all that easy to work with in my opinion. That was my least favorite building style, soooo much sand. >< That takes a while to do, and to think I am not finished just yet. Just taking a break from that specific village since that one I worked on several days in a row.... well with sleep in between of course, but I think that will be the only sandstone village I will ever even toil with.lol
I prefer the wood/cobble/stone brick colors more.:D

Oh, no doubt. My village isn't in the desert, so the inspiration's in the village remodel, itself. I had thrown up temp housing to get the village population up. Now, I'm re-organizing. I'll put the sandstone/spruce combo in my toolbag, until needed.
Man i'd love to check out this world or Arcavia. ._."
I just love your style and your worlds so much. Do you think I could visit one of your worlds?
At the moment that is not possible... I don't mind showing people around when I am able, but currently I don't have gold anymore, and don't have the budget for it at the moment. Maybe in the future. Glad you liked the style, took me a while before I figured out what it is exactly.:D

I have added the section "Main Base" to this with a bundle of more pics.
These new ones are basically below spawn, and forms what is my base in this world. Hope yall enjoy, I will have to finish quite a bit on certain areas, but since this is a survival world after all, this will probably take a while. At least I enjoy doing what I do, even if not the best, at least it looks the way I had in mind for the most part.:D

Oh I will, after all the Lava storage is not really even complete yet. Plus I have a bundle of other ideas, since this is suppose to eventually become a kingdom or multiple there of, like my first world. Even though that one only has 1 place. I guess in a way I would refer this one to my second Arcavia, but mainly I just stuck with the seed name I used, hence the title.:D

Thanks. I prefer gathering the resources to build than to pop it in place with creative.
