so i searched youtube for redstone battleship games with no mods but i didnt find any advanced automatic systems..mostly just pre built ships and placing and breaking blocks..well i wanted to do something different..
i had thought about it for a while and one day it just dawned on me...in a few days i made an all electrical battleship game never before made or at least posted online lol heres some pix ... ill be placing it on youtube shortly
so its a 5x5 grid you place 3 ships.. 2/3/4/ ..it shows your ship placements on blue and where you hit your enemy on red .. alot of functions lol hopefully i can get around to making a video fully explaining the system and how it works
looks great if its your creation dont take it personally i just dont trust noobies who post great stuff 8/10 there liars
but if this is your awesome keep up the great work
This was the first video when I searched YouTube. No mods, all regular redstone lol Not exactly the same as yours, but still automated with regular non modded Minecraft.
There were a lot more too. I don't assume anything this later in Minecrafts life is original or the first time it's been done. At this point, it's pretty much if you've thought of it, so has someone else. If you've thought of building it, it's almost guaranteed that someone else has.
i didnt say there werent redstone versions out there..most of them just arent that advanced..its fairly simple to make wires go a long way lol..its the original unique logic your mind puts into it...alot of things in minecraft are original because no one can do something exactly like another person..yea they mightve had the same idea from an old game..still they will come up with two different things.no one thinks identical..you can do things with redstone 1000 different ways..i probably could open a door like 50 ways lol now for the people who copy someones walkthrough on youtube..there the ones taking the original idea and replicating it lol i think that makes since
yea we probably all have lol ...but not as user friendly /simplified as mine..you have to understand redstone and how in depth contraptions work to realize the difference of the machines lol

well, i have a friend, whos is extremely user friendly, yours looks like it needs to be cleaned up a bit.
no, i mean, the game its self, im not sure if thats a game board with numbers, etc, its really sloppy, i think you could easily clean it up.
those numbers are actually hidden until it switches modes and someones gains a hit ....also shows your hits on his locations and your ships and your hit ships ..all on the seperate redstone torch boards...maybe the pics a bit blurry
Could you explain how you made this? I make AI's and clocks and calculators but i can never make things like THIS!
with your extensive background in redstone..you could easily make stuff like this...i was stuck at that point years ago until i
kinda understood how multiple things can work together it was like breaking threw a wall... look at it like this...if you know all the gates and fliop flops and fully understand how they work..then you brainstorm..take the basic tic tac toe for instance..what logic lies behind that? how could you put it into redstone with the things you know? rules of tic tac toe basically is guess on a 3x3 grid each player takes a turn..right?
how would you make your board? redstone torchs ?pistons? glowlamps.. to display the x's and o's ..you easily could whip up a board and have your buttons on each side ..one x and one O ..and they would display either and x or an o..pretty simply..but it needs some kinda rules right.. logic! lol so you think how can i make it so if x is on a space.. o cannot play ..then you go back to your knowledge of the logic gates and think what gate would be appropriate for that..everything can always be done multiple ways no way is always right..you make the rules with what you know ...try and put it on paper first..just think about how could you solve that problem..you know? i hope this was helpful..i didnt wanna just tell you how to do it..you dont always learn much that way..just trying to help you jump that gap..
great job looks awesome
i only started minecraft when xbox edition came out and didnt know anything about redstone
and when i heard Tflipflop and and/or gates i was like what the hell
but i learned very much from the wiki and watching redstone tutorials and then trying to make stuff myself
trial, error and problem solving your own creations is key in learning the redstone stuff
i couldnt agree with you more lol i been playing since alpha on the pc..didnt know anything about redstone around that time..minecraft wikis page on logic gates blew my mind..after that it was just alot of practice ..you name it i probably made it haha

I've seen a few Battleship games done "through software" without mods. I even know of one done on MCXBLA that has turn-taking, win detection, and preset "boats" of proper sizes. Also, the grids are 10x10.
You might want to conceal your ego a bit; a little modesty goes a long way. It appears and sounds like a nicely designed game of Battleship, not that I can really tell for lack of screenshots and descriptions. But, at the end of the day, it's still just Battleship.
