Hi everyone. I'm new to these forums, but I play Minecraft on my 360 and I'm wanting to start building a Roman world in Creative. I would LOVE to build a 1:1 scale replica of the Colosseum, but I can't seem to find any tutorials or anything of that nature. If anyone knows of anything of that nature, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks in advance! P.S. Circus Maximus and Pantheon would also be a great help
Well the Pantheon is not a Colosseum so don't look up images of that but to get started learn how to make arches those are the main feature of Roman Colosseum so just learn those first then build of that
Well, to start these will come in handy when building the circular structure. Circle Charts. Or for a more specific nature the website plotz.uk.co has a great circle generator. It would be pretty time consuming and boring to make an ENTIRE tutorial on something a massive as the colosseum. Anyways its really just a lot of repeated structure. I would start with your circle mapped out on the ground and obviously build the first layer of arches. From here you would decide if you wanted to make the structure fully constructed or falling apart like it is now. Looking at pictures while your building is one of the best things you can do (I tack mine to the wall in front of me). Couple other things, remember that if your building on anything besides a Superflat world you'll only have about 60 blocks of building height (and that's if your VERY lucky it closer to 50). So make sure to take that into to account before you start your build. If none of this was helpful and you still can't figure it out feel free to add me on Xbox Live and I'll help you out GT: Renderious
Here's my 1:1 scale ratio Roman Colosseum that I built. I don't think there's a tutorial available to build such a massive structure since I've also searched for tutorials, and I couldn't find any. I used mostly photos and some YouTube videos of Colosseum builds on PC Minecraft as reference. This build was a pain since I started long before the creative update came out. Building this huge arena burnt me out, and I actually quit playing Minecraft for several weeks.
I am building a Roman City, and I have built several historic structures. In addition to my Colosseum, I've built Ludus Magnus (Gladiator Training School), and Arch of Constantine. Check out my Epic Roman City thread.
Building Dimension - 188L x 156W x 48H
Arena Floor Dimension - 86L x 56W

For the first couple weeks, I did everything legit. I mined and smelted cobblestone to stone. It was laborious and time consuming. Then, I found out about the dup glitch which made everything easier.
Ummmmmm, what? How does that have anything to do with being a man? I made this thread for helpful suggestions, so screw off buddy.
Alright, but look at it this way, If you watch a tutoria, you acomplish nothing, you could download a map for all you would get that way, but if you come up with a design, it gets a challenge into it, and then you learn how to build it yourself and have a unique structure of your own.

There is a BIG difference between watching a tutorial and downloading a map. You learn everything you know including things about Minecraft. Whether is was through trial or error or someone else teaching you.

While I certainly don't agree with how he put it I will say that trial and error is one of the best ways to learn when it comes to Minecraft.
