I just recently made this pirate ship in creative mode last sunday, adding minor additions here and there since then as I think of them. Thought I'd sign up here to show it off and possibly hear some more ideas for things to add to the ship.
The idea to work on the ship started with the thought that I could use the web block (thinking that you could climb up them similar to swimming in water) as the net ladder things that go up the masts. Unfortunately you can't go up webs, but I still went with the idea, keeping the ship authentic as possible with any additions I could think of.
Please lemme know what you think, and like I said I'm always looking to add anything else I can imagine would belong on the ship if there's room for it, so I welcome any decent ideas.
Dude thats cool. Howd you get the villager on your ship
The simplest way I could think of was by building a passageway in the sky that went from the villages to my ship. I trapped and herded the villagers into the passage and used buckets of water while pushing them to move them as fast as possible.

Couldn't you just use spawn eggs?

I like it man, very simple. Next time try something a little bigger, you'll love the outcome. I started out the same way as you and I just keep trying to make stuff bigger and bigger every time. I love building ships. Check out my most recent one vvv

Yeah this was my first time making a ship. Wanted to keep it simple mostly since I wouldn't have a clue how the interior of huge intricate ships are designed. Impressive ship of yours too. One thing nice about such a big ship is you can make the sails look a lot more interesting. If I made a larger ship I could also fit many cannons.
its a good effort, but ive seen alot better on here...
(you might get better/more response if you kids stopped saying yours is the best !!)
You've only seen a couple pictures, not all the detail that's gone into it. I've looked around at some other ships people have made while trying to get ideas for anything else to add, haven't really seen better. I have seen other impressive ships though. I'm not naive enough to be convinced mine is really the best. The title is more to catch interest/challenge someone to inspire ideas.
Use a minecrat to bring villagers there then u can do it faster
Unfortunately I didn't know until a couple days ago that you could get villagers in mine carts, and there are only a couple villages on my map of which I've already moved all the villagers.
very cool ,would like to see what was done for the helm, and what about adding a head, galley and a hold....... full of jewels and gold
My friend in the navy just educated me on the head, though my alternative is a couple toilet rooms on the deck of the sleeping quarters, which are simply just holes to go in that have smaller holes that run off the side of the ship.
I'm satisfied with my wheel at the helm, which is a horizontally extended piston with a redstone torch hidden in the mizzenmast. You can barely make it out in this pic:
On my friends ship you can see there was no where for him to conceal the torch though. I hadn't seen the wheel done this way on any other ships, and it's my preferred solution. Same with using web for rope between masts and all, rather than cotton blocks. Though they're a bit annoying if you step in one on deck, I think they definitely look better.
There is a galley on the level below the sleep quarters, and also a kitchen. The galley is just a couple long dining tables with I think 24 seats overall, so half the crew can eat at a time.
There's a cargo hold on the lowest level with the holding cells, but me booty is kept in a sideroom through the captains cabin.
Why do people feel the need to showcase their creations on someone else's thread?
I don't see the point.. and it is disrespectful honestly. Specially "
Cire360"
just posted a pic? Really?
OnTopic... Sweet build sir! Sure we'll see many more in the future.

Check it out for awesome tutorials and constant content!
although these where done from schematics ive changed alot and they where done on the 360
take some ideas from them
Not a lot of ideas to be gained from these pics unfortunately. I'm not as concerned with making a massive ship with lots of sails. I focus on the little details that make the ship feel more authentic.

Thank you, though I don't have a lot of big projects to show off or ideas to work on. This is really all I have to show.
these are as authentic as any other ship ive seen......more so
but will remember in the future
They may be, but all I can see from the screenshots are faraway shots of large ships with lots of sails. I'm looking more for ideas of little details to add to the ship. Things like rooms/sections that you'd find on a pirate ship that I might be missing, or little mechanisms with certain purposes etc. For instance, an anchor hangs off the side of my ship, with a rope that runs up to the capstan which winds it in. Or the scuppers - which I got from seeing another guys pirate ship on youtube - that allow water that splashes on deck to run off the side.

Thanks to my buddy Tru3 Shots who recorded for me, I now have a so people can see everything on it. There's also a peek at what I'm currently working on, which is another ship with basically the same design but larger so I can include a couple adjustments I wanted to make. This next ship will be even more impressive, including a few more features. Hopefully I'll be able to get a video up of it too once it's finished. Here's a pic of most of the progress I've made so far.

Edit: Here's the latest screen shot of the bigger ship I'm currently working on. Nearly complete.
It depends on the topic, some get alot of hits, others not so much.

Not in xbox yet. Next update
