First I would like to say that I am not the best builder out there, but I do build. The name of the topic is actually the name of what I call my primary map that I go back to every so often and touch up or add this and that. It is in no way complete, and probably will never be, but at least I give it some attention here and there.
I wish I took some older pics so I could have a before after look, as quite a few things I did a remodeling of, namely my little castle town that is still expanding. My idea was and still is to have several kingdoms on this map I started in 1.7.3, however I still am working on only the one and only a landmark for where another would be. lol. Some actually would recognize bits and pieces of which seed I originally used, unless they remember what I said it was long ago.
Most my inspiration comes from many different sources, Madnes64 is one of them, also the couple of nice you tube channels I keep an eye on: Docm77 & Ethos lab. I do have maybe 1 thing I actually built from madnes64 and that will be obvious, even if I did modify this and that a little.
I just hope the pics show. Now for the view:
This is one of many entrances to the primary kingdom. I don't have a name yet for it, as it is still developing, as always. Now for a basic tour...
The Castle Town Tour:
Town Hall There to the right, yes that big building with a towering backside that looks too plain at the moment..lol
Of course you saw the building to the left of the town hall. That happens to be the alchemist's house, but in this above is next door to that and his work place.
Blacksmith, which happens to be across the street from the town hall. The right side of the smith's place is the living area, the central section where they would take orders and the left section is the second pic you see above, the Forging room.
Around the corner from the blacksmith, and also on the right side of the very first pic "town entrance" is the general store; Like most of my buildings so far some have interior and some do not. I get to them in time. So for now looking inside at the moment is not the final product, but at least the make over to the outside went well, at least I think so...
This is one of 2 Duplex housing. Well the remodel made them into a duplex. This one shares a chimney, and also this is on the left side of the initial pic.
To the left of the alchemist just so happens to be my small diner I made for the heck of it. Every place has to have a tavern or eatery of some kind. I may make another one eventually, but this one will do for now, at least the pigs look to enjoy the place.
The Crafters for all your basic things like chairs tables, and even some tools. This place was made to be an all catch crafting place for special orders, or something like that. The bottom floor is the work space, and a staircase off to the right of the building going up to the second story is the living space.
The building next to the Craters is the Rail Station. A simple one, nothing fancy, as it does not look all that well on the inside...>< At least it functions, which I will get to a bit later...
The Greenhouse is the wheat farm obviously, and the house closest to us is the owner. Unlike the rest of the housing this one was not exactly a remodel, since all I have of it originally was the general model made with dirt. That was probably the longest one left to sit till I though of how I wanted to go about it, which just happens to be within the couple days remodeling the town that I finally got around to it. that is the final for the Town so far.
Oh wait I bet you want a top view, Ok here you go:
This is somewhat the best I can do about a top view of the town. Yes it is that small so far. I do have things round the bend.
My wall collection that surrounds most this area:
Trust me that last one with the day night, that small version of the wall actually if you notice the bend here actually shrinks down to it in a way. also it does have a purpose, since that is the alternate route to a few areas above.
At the moment I didn't get a good shot of the castle on the mountain, but this is good for the moment till I get a better shot.
A tower that is on the other side of the castle you saw above. Since the height on maps now stop at a certain height, I could not build it the height I wanted; which means the keep and this tower would have been taller if I had more height.
Believe it or not this is the quarry I did. Originally it was literally my cobblestone quarry for a while, as that is pretty much all I was making my castle out of at the time. Where you see the grass is actually scafolding I put there so I wouldn't fall off and also leads to another way to this area that you can get to from that smaller wall at the base of the mountain. I basically dolled it up a little and left areas of it open, if I decide to continue using the quarry. As of yet not needed, since I have lots under the earth that I worked on.
Now to continue on below where the station leads.(so many switches)
My vault Entrance, acessible mainly through the rail, unless you really want to walk along the track...lol
The central room if you go around the fiery thingy... and strait. This just holds all the main blocks that you can mine normally.
These are in the left wing, the furnace room being the first left left. Redstone is along the walls down a bit further in the hallway, and the next left is the rail storage room obviously.
This is the right wing per say. Mostly the crafting stuff are in this wing as well farming items. i do have a pumpkin farm in this place, just decided not to take a picture of it at the time. >< Mostly as you can see most the place is quite themed similar. If you are wondering a few pics above I was actually able to transmute a while back to get spruce wood. it was barely a stack worth of it so I use it sparingly for that reason. Which leads me to say tree materials are in this wing as well. I think I put all the wood items that was not redstone related on this side. Anyway the storage does have a bit of organization, as well the ability to expand in case of new blocks and such. There are more rooms I could show but I figured this was enough to get the general idea of my Vault Storage.
Now onto what I call my obsidian mine, even though i don't use it for that anymore...O_o go figure. the first pic is of the base camp that is above, well the entrance of it in the rain, and sits right at two of the mine's entrances, or rather in between them. Just look for some overgrown trees past the castle town... The other pic is near the the rail post, what might turn into a rail station later on or stick to being a button in a post...lol Down there you can see a bit more with the winding stairs...
Yes this is in the sand place. In fact just down those stairs and to the left you will see the above. This is my new cow and sheep farm I made underground. Figured I would use these mines for something since I don't use them for what it was originally intended, but I was more thinking along the lines of miners need to get there food and clothing from somewhere.
This is originally what the mine was intended for. Easy pickings...lol Still a lot more lava behind those walls. And that is just the one in front of us that you see. Behind there is another lava chamber i came to find out suddenly when I tried to branch mine down here. This is where I decided not to branch mine at level y5 and ended up eventually getting to the concept of y12 for branch mining...
Isn't it cute... lol Well I know it is not up to part, but actually nothing after this point will be. This is 1 entrance to my slime farm. I decided to dig strait down to near y16 and below. that wasn't easy since there happen to be 3 cave systems that did not connect to each other.
The station for what I call Slimetown is actually in one of those caves, but the upper most one.
A couple cavelets later and down here is where i have somewhat made the slime farm... Of course there is no slime down here... It is on peaceful at the moment. I only come here when I need slimeballs, and since this is not the most efficient of farms it may take a while before I get a slime. You will not get a big slime standing here though...lol that wall at the farthest end is 32 blocks away. this is actually part of a triple slime chunk; the place I am standing on, and the area before you that you see, and off to the right of this wall is the 3rd chunk which I didn't want to deal with because i didn't want to mess with the lava there...><
yes I have a lot of zombie spawners apparently... this is just one of many. This shot is just a bit of a ways away from the slimetown station heading towards our next destination.
The station of what I call Branch Mine A. The other spot that I actually do branch mining in... haven't for the longest time due to the fact what would I be branch mining for at the moment....
Quite a bit of my mines usually look like this initially...A labyrinth of stairways, balconies, holes and dead ends... There are a few distinct routes, but you would have to be near the broken tower which I forgot to take a pic of. It is square anyhow.. Mostly...
The actual area that I do my branch mining in. Oh originally it did not have this 16x16 room. Can you guess? Well this was my first attempt at a slime farm. That didn't go so well. That other one is what I ended up with and stuck with using as such. But here i have always done a bit of branch mining... there is two levels... here at y12, and one that is at I think either y15 or y14... something like that.... That is actually up the stairs behind me...
If you do not see this walkway on the second pic in the first pic, you really are not paying attention... As that is desert mostly in the first pic. Sure quite a bit of this mountain is dirt, but there is sandy bits too. The trail of grass in the first pic is actually easy to see where it leads. Off to the left is the slime farm entrance from above, and to the right is one of the castle walls obviously. and it does go down further and behind me when looking at the first pic, which leads down into the rail system...
This is above the town with the WIP castle. Most stuff is WIP, as I tend to only work on this and that now a days. Oh this is my experimental area/courtyard... Basically where that walkway in the last pic is leading up to. At one time that transmutation machine worked, but now it doesn't. Of course I moved it from its' orginal location after it broke originally just to see if i could get it to work again. Oh well. there is a cactus farm, field for wheat, sugarcane farm and a couple transmutation machines... Behind me up some steps is where I originally had my storage room.
Now onto something I do not know when or if I ever will get to:
If you really want to know about that rectangle looking building that well is an eye sore at the moment, i actually had plans for it. After all this is in a location where another kingdom was going to go. So far that is all I got. lol If you noticed in some of my creations presented here they were originally like this one. After all this was my first map I ever built seariously on. So it is to be expected to see some old things like this still around for now. Of course this is the section of the world that i actually allowed temporarily some friends to mess around with. They got bored of it, as it was in peaceful...
That about sums at least this specific world up... I showed most of the primary things, even though I talk about a few others as well... This world will continue to be remodeled and added onto when I feel the urge or mood to do so...lol This is what I got from my beginings to now actually, at least on this world. some things I have done in other worlds before I put it into this one. Like a couple of the remodels for the town I did in creative flatland before I actually went and did it in this map.
this map has never had host options or creative even touch it. It started with survival easy but eventually went to survival peaceful full time. It has been that was since, and the only one that I do keep that way...O_o
APPENDED: I also have a second world that I go back to from time to time, and that would be my PumpkinPatchInOctober map.
That you very much. It all still maybe a work in progress, continually but at least every time I go back to this map I still have in mind what I want to do as a whole. When I find the time I will probably take some of what it looks like before I did the housing remodel. You will notice a major improvement, that is a guarantee.
Now only if I could complete my wizards tower or something like that...>< I might get some by this weekend of the before pics, but I will have to find the back up with the original. There are like a few backups across all the versions of this world that I have...lol
Appended: Etho has quite a few things I wouldn't mind doing, albeit a more simple version of them, since I am not as good as he with redstone or grinders...
Ok Like I said before here are some photos before the remodel of various things, and 1 Other beyond that.
Castle Town Before Pics:
Town Hall, yes I had dirt there originally meant to be changed to kinda what it is now. Mainly originally I had in mind just to have stairs for the overhang; later is when I actually finally got to it I decided it didn't look good alone, hence my changes. Besides my style finally sunk in about then anyway.:D
Alchemist. Total rework of the roofing.
Blacksmith. Also another total reworking of the roof.
General Store.
Duplex Housing A. I just had to do something about these, both sets... Even if I am only showing 1 set, at least you get the idea of what the other looks similar to. That and you can see it in another pic anyhow.
Small Diner. the inside looks exactly the same, as it happens to be one of the few that I actually furnished early on and was semi-satisfied by it. Just noticed... The pigs have been there all this time? O_o Wow they really know there grub...lol
Crafters House and Business. The roof was reworked on this one, as well the staircase that goes up the right side.
Simple Rail Station. The main thing that I changed on this one you would think is obvious. If not well just look this has a real fireplace. I didn't want my staircase to my crafters burning up as well the ornamentation around this building, so I got rid of it as well moved the wall right, like 1 block. The inside downstairs has not been touched, so it looks the same.
Wheat Farmers Greenhouse & what should be their house. At this point I wasn't sure what to make the house of like I mentioned before. Dirt was the thing I just used to get the shape I wanted then. Although I did change it a little. The green house has far less minor changes than the rest of the village. Mainly shifting the support side pillars and beams. If you can call it support. Also changed some blocks to be stairs and/or slabs, making it look a bit more right to me at least. Well better than this...
The Top down view I had before from the very same spot I took the last one.
Castle Quarry:
I didn't want to take too many pics of the quarry, as you can see why. it is pretty bland. this is because at one time like I said I was using it...lol It was dug from top of the mountain from where the castle is to where it is now, plus some small additions to the side you see in the upper right corner. All this is still there and accessible, but with a bit more... I guess stylish scaffolding.
Obsidian Mine Undergound Farms:
I really did not like the gravel in that wall... That was somewhat a pain to clean out for my sheep farm, which was the first thing I put in. At least there was not so much on the other wall where the cow farm is today. This place has a lot of gravel in wall form, in the walls, under the walls above the walls, in piles laying around.... And I called this my Obsidian mine...lol Well that is only due to what I had shown in the first pic.
Secondary Base Camp:
I had to take a picture before it was all snowy, not that does it any more justice.lol I will eventually as I have mentioned do something here but right now I have my hands full chopping wood for the other kingdom.:D
Another Castle Pic:
I would take a before pic of this or even around the time when it was just a big rectangular box of dirt on the hill. However I don't think a box of dirt would be worth showing as that is how it all started. That and I have no backup that is that far back. I might of the castle itself, but sadly (if you can say that) not of my dirt box I started out with. Which reminds me of the hole I had to eventually cover partially just to build near it... That hole would lead to a long drop to the town below, of course then it wasn't even a town just some flatland under the arches with some trees all around. Oddly enough I don't think I ever did cut down most the trees within the wall boundary.
As you can see I I just played slightly with the shadows of the castle, as stone brick was not around when I was building this. Had to make do. Trust me showing off a big flat surface it was before would be an eye sore. Well at least for me. Eventually I will touch up on the castle as well finish it, but for now it will due til I can get the town below the way I want it or envision it. Oh by the way, the castle is bigger than what you see here, that upper left corner bit that you see in the background is not the tower I showed, that is further back in that exact direction. The castle itself does wrap around the top of this hill and stairs mainly bead down into cut earth to the small wall below, as well that tower leading down to the town hall. The tower is actually in front of the quarry believe it or not...lol
I know this is not what you might be expecting, but hey it was my first map that I continue to work on every so often to make improvements as my style develops, as well add things.
I may add this to the top post when I get around to it, as this is the history of my world after all. But for now we are still on the first page...:D I'll take more pics when I have other things in this world to present or just other things I haven't yet shown. Hope you liked the comparison from New to Old in this case.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Of course I did notice a misspell on the name... that will be fixed...
It is in the top section...Like I said it would be obvious what it is...lol
These creations are cool I like the wall and the town hall lol, and the rail system is pretty cool too. But I have one question, who is madness 64, I hear his name a lot on creations forum.

Acting like a creeper in your signature is too mainstream.

Look "madnes64" up on you tube.... That is what people are referring to. A person whom plays on pc granted, but does a lot of medieval creations among others. And he does it rather well, a whole lot better than I could ever get to. lol
Want it on youtube ? Send me a friend request on xbox OoRMoWnAg3oO have a nice day
Hmm... don't think it is really ready for something like that...O_o After all it is still a work in progress.. but thanks for the offer. I really do have more plans for it, after all I can see my Obsidian Mine needs more stuff; that and I have had ideas streaming in while I was on my other world, which I probably will end up putting in this thread as well, since I consider it Arcavia 2.0. I've only shown a few pics of that one and that was of some the lighting in it.
Will continue to work on both, as both are my Works in progress I enjoy expanding and adding to...:D

Ok.. for some reason I can't see ANY of the pictures... what gives?
I have yet to sort that out, as I have noticed this a while ago. It has something to do with how Facebook permissions. Originally I had just my minecraft directory set to public. But I am guessing sometime a while ago Facebook updated something and turned them all private, the directory included. Right now I have yet to figure out how to set the directory as a whole public as it was before.
I could do each image individually, and will be a daunting task. Even my other map that is linked from this one is done in facebook. I'll see what I can do in the upcoming weeks, as this has been bugging me for a while. Facebook can get confusing for me, especially in the pic section, now that their apparently are changes in how it does things.
Don't know when, just know it is something I do have in mind in my busy life.:)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
This is somewhat the best I can do about a top view of the town. Yes it is that small so far. I do have things round the bend.
You didn't read my post all the way then...><
Of course I did notice a misspell on the name... that will be fixed...
It is in the top section...Like I said it would be obvious what it is...lol
Now only if I could complete my wizards tower or something like that...>< I might get some by this weekend of the before pics, but I will have to find the back up with the original. There are like a few backups across all the versions of this world that I have...lol
Appended: Etho has quite a few things I wouldn't mind doing, albeit a more simple version of them, since I am not as good as he with redstone or grinders...
I had to take a picture before it was all snowy, not that does it any more justice.lol I will eventually as I have mentioned do something here but right now I have my hands full chopping wood for the other kingdom.:D
I may add this to the top post when I get around to it, as this is the history of my world after all. But for now we are still on the first page...:D I'll take more pics when I have other things in this world to present or just other things I haven't yet shown. Hope you liked the comparison from New to Old in this case.
These creations are cool I like the wall and the town hall lol, and the rail system is pretty cool too. But I have one question, who is madness 64, I hear his name a lot on creations forum.
Look "madnes64" up on you tube.... That is what people are referring to. A person whom plays on pc granted, but does a lot of medieval creations among others. And he does it rather well, a whole lot better than I could ever get to. lol
Anyway thank you for the compliment...
EDIT: Never mind just click the link. lol
http://www.youtube.com/user/Madnes64
That is his channel.
Hmm... don't think it is really ready for something like that...O_o After all it is still a work in progress.. but thanks for the offer.
Lol... thanks... even though I still think it needs quite a bit of work in a lot of places. I could show you around sometime if you like...:D
then you would have a 1st hand impression... As the pics can only show so much.
aye... I usually a bit earlier.. but for the most part yes... See you then...:D
Ok.. for some reason I can't see ANY of the pictures...
