Built this over the past month offline since I'm waiting for Halo 4 to renew my gold subscription.
Map seed is -265145002017642509 in case anyone likes the terrain, though with the upcoming update, I have no idea what it will look like afterwards.
Spawned around the northeast portion of the map, right by the water:
Had to live on land for a few days to get the resources to build a tower in the water, in the mean time, I took shelter in a cave beneath where the picture was taken.
Once I had the resources, I built the tower, going from the bottom of the lake up to the surface, then I built a watchtower/lighthouse atop that. After the tower was built, I built some vital underwater structures to give me reliable and safe resource access. With all of that built, I then moved back on land for the village.
Tower and underwater complex:
Underwater tunnels radiating from the central tower, one in each direction;
Tree Farm:
And finally the shaft mine down to bedrock:
Also coming off the tunnels are some bedrooms;
My personal room:
AND Finally, some views of the village (in progress):
As the pictures show, there is still a lot of room available for building. When I renew my gold subscription in November, if anyone would like to help build a room or house, just message here,
I love your building design. Something very simple but looks really really nice. I love the way partys of the world are edged off in cobblestone. I need to do that in a lot of parts in my world. Thank you for the inspiration. 1 up for you man. I'd love to check it out once you get your gold back.
By the way, use the forward slash instead of the back slash to fix the pictures.

Thanks, figured the terracing was a lot easier to do then flattening a large tract of land.
Backslash didn't help though...
Can do it a couple of ways. I usually build whats going to be emptry space out of dirt, then surround that with a cobblestone structure. Since I have a surface to lake bottom tower, I dont have to worry about airlocks so I just go down and clear out the dirt, leaving a cobblestone tunnel. Then I just throw in some glass to make it look decent.
Havent updated in awhile, but I've been steadily working on my world.
Besides adding a rather large desert to my world where a tundra used to be (update made the rain and snow stop), I am currently finishing up a fort near the village. I also added a set of docks right next to my wood spawn platform.
yeah same here im thinking of making a giant subway system underwater but i havnt told my friends yet so im asking anybody if they want to help me build it, its in a stream so you wont have to worry about drowning but i want to learn how to build underwater. im sorry for any inconviencance.

I'm trying to do an underwater build but it's proving problematic on survival..
Are you aware of the "door trick"? Place a wooden door on the floor of the ocean near your build zone. The block on which the door is placed will become an air pocket to which you can return so you don't need to keep surfacing for air.

just copy and paste straight from facebook works the best for me
[EDIT] Welp, we did that at the same time.
First up is the house near the bridge to the tower:
Next is the house thats away from the water, it also has a minecart track in the basement that connects to the shaft mine.
AND now the gatehouse that I've been working on today (waiting for tomorrow to put windows in);
View from the terrace:
View from the front with gate open:
Front view closed:

and the tower above it..

Definitely, hopefully I don't get completely overtaken by halo 4 with the gold renewal
Very nice, thats a whole lot of glass. Whats in the tower, a mob farm?
Anything specific need improving?
