Has anyone noticed green patches of grass (the type that are in forests) popping up in places they weren't before? I was wondering if these are possibly place holders until actual jungles come out in TU10. It would also be great if 4J studios added jungle saplings to the bonus chests in TU10 so we can just add jungles to our existing worlds instead of having to create a new one.
Hopefully these dark green patches that have popped up are going to be jungle biomes in the near future!
If you can, please support putting every type of sapling (1-3) inside the bonus chest for TU10 so we don't have to create a new world again. It would save a lot of heart ache of having to make a new world after all the time people have invested in their 1.9 worlds.
- EDIT: I noticed that parts of my plains biome turned dark green and it has happened to my friend as well. Odd.
I don't know. I live in a swamp biome and patches of grass have suddenly become lighter than they were before. It could of just been some change to the world generation code.
Parts of my swamp have become lighter as well but thats probably because your close to a river which is a biome of its own (it has light grass on the edges). Also, swamps have the darkest grass so it only can get lighter from there.

Perhaps. I'll go wandering through my forests and see if I can see any dark patches but I haven't seen any yet.
It would be cool to get the jungle tree saplings buuuuuut that wouldn't add the jungle biome, even if you convert a forest to jungle trees it'll still be a forest biome and thusly ocelots won't spawn. Though if you just want the forest then yea, sure why not lol
Well on my 1.6.6 I got swamp biomes once the 1.9 update came out. All it was missing was the trees with vines. I'm sure that with the 1.2.3 update our existing worlds will get jungle biomes without the jungle trees. But with the jungle saplings in the bonus chests we can just walk over and start planting them without having to start a new world!
I built a castle in a large sprawling swamp... A swamp which now has patches of Not swamp in it (as of the update). I am not pleased. What caused this?
I loaded a brand new world using the same seed. Now there are large areas of water where there used to be swampy land. (I didn't fill them in my world. They just weren't there before.) There are also many other small changes to the world (like a lava flow in cave that wasn't there before, and hills being shaped differently).
Why is the same seed creating a slightly different world? And why is it affecting the landscape in a world generated before the update?

I think the same seed creates a different world because of the addition to beaches from 1.7 and downward
It's a known thing. The world generation changes every time a new biome is added to the game. Beaches count as a biome, so the generation changed again, as it has done almost every update since the game came out.

The biomes shifted. Happened in my worlds too. A new biome was added in this update(beaches) The shift is certainly not as severe as large biome additions like swamps or jungles.
This^^, although I believe the amount of changes may differ from seed to seed.
