Recently I'm getting huge lag on Minecraft Win10 edition. There was no such lag month ago (I was playing on 40 chunks visible distance). Fps jumping strangely from 60 to 15 at some places.... Right now I set visible distance to 8 but still getting lag My spec: cpu i3-6230 3.9ghz; 16Gb ram; What is interesting that my girlfriend is getting lag too. She has slower pc and now it's pretty much unplayable, but there was no such thing about month ago. Maybe someone know something? Is this related to so recent patch or something?
Other people have been experiencing this too, myself included. I contacted them about it, but didn't really get a good answer. Really hoping it's something they're working on fixing...
I have noticed this also in recent weeks. Seems like it started with the big Windows update that came out a week or two ago. Since then the video seems to jump and not feed smoothly. Haven't had time to research but I wonder if it has something to do with Windows new "Game Mode" stuff that is supposed to help games run better. :-)
this is also happening to me, when i first make the world, everything was smooth, but after like playing it for few weeks, it starting to get lag when looking around, even worse it stutter like crazy.
Latest windows 10 creator update, latest mcwin10 edition.
As a side note, I just got 1.1.1. 98% of my stuttering problem went away. Made new world, draw distance was only 8. Bumped it up to 24 and still no problem. Usually when flying fast it would have trouble keeping up with my flying- not anymore. Not sure what they did, but I'll take it!
I also have 1.1.1 now and it improved things a little bit. I still have block lag, significant lag on Minecarts and Nether lag and visibility only 10 chunks - this is on Realms. Playing single player, non-realms is hardly any lag at all.
Yes, it was. "Beta" was removed because it came out of beta and was finally fully released, like any new game.
Now, why was it "more playable"? Because it had a lot less features than it does now. Look at all they've added since the game first came out! But as the game became bigger and bigger, of course it started lagging more and more. But hey, we wanted it to be more "PC-like" and add more this, that, and the other, didn't we? And we wanted all that stuff now, like ASAP. To heck with giving them time to optimize the code. We wanted it all, and we wanted it now.
On one hand I can't wait and I'm very excited about the upcoming Better Together update.
But on the other hand, I'm worried that all that new stuff added will cause problems (you know it won't be just the graphics). We'll just have to wait and see. Obviously they've been working on it for a long time behind our backs (Surprise!). I'm sure they've heard all about our "lag" problems and worked hard to fix them.

It will be interesting....
how far do you think MCW10 and Java version gap ? i know both not equivalent and i'm just curious, maybe 1.6 = 1.1.1 ? its interesting that it almost has "all" the feature in Java, and catching up really fast even though its not "full" like Java version.
I know this post is solved and all but I never got that ever on any version really, but like on one post I made that no one responded to, when I type in chat on any game that isn't my own world my game likes to crash and freeze my entire PC for around 5-10 minutes. It has been happening since 1.1.1.

They are too different to compare. It goes way beyond what features the two editions have in common. It's what they don't have in common that makes them so hard to compare one to the other (and the gap is going to get even bigger this summer). It's not matching features that matters, but each edition's unique features.
Please don't get caught up in the "What's missing from Win10 that bring it up to the java version?" thinking. That used to be the question a year ago, but not anymore.
That's the Better Together update coming later on this year. I don't know if they are exactly equivalent at the moment (I don't have X Box version, just Win 10), but they must be by the time that update gets rolled out surely. I have a couple of friends who play on consoles and we are looking forward to finally all being able to play cross platform.

They'll be a huge graphical overhaul this summer (See the "Better Together" announcement in News), so we'll see what happens then.
I have an i7 w/16 megs ram and I too am getting slow chunk loading causing studdering (I wouldn't call it "lag"), so I can't wait for the update.

Idk why they removed beta from the name it was more playable then

if it is getting more laggy when it gets more features then i can't imagine how it will be when it gets all pc features and super duper graphics pack
all people was saying it is better optimized but maybe they thought it is because it had nothing
Interesting thought. I was wondering the same thing. Surely they wouldn't have done it without testing to make sure it works, right?
We'll just have to wait and see. I'm sure they heard all about the lagging (probably sick of hearing about it), so I'm sure Mojang has worked on it.
ok, out of topic,
how about the console (eg. xbox one) where windows 10 edition can play with xbox one edition, does it mean, both version are equivalent ?
