I am trying to install forge so that my kids can use a instantmassivestructure mod.
They are running windows 10 edition for PC.
When I try to install forge it gives me the option as installing as a client and then provides a message at the bottom "there is no minecraft directory set up. Either choose an alternative or run the minecraft launcher to create one"
It then allows you to browse but the default is C:\Users\Franc\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft.
W10Ed does not have this file structure. It has the following:
C:\Users\Franc\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang (this is where I find my worlds and behaviour packs etc).
I have searched for a minecraft_launcher.jsn file with no luck.
"Windows 10 Edition" is a form of the Pocket Edition of Minecraft (see http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Windows_10_Edition for details), and thus does not support Minecraft Forge or mods written for the Computer Edition of Minecraft. However, if you're using Windows 10 on PC rather than on a tablet/smartphone, you can install the Computer Edition of Minecraft (you might need to purchase it separately, though).
