I've read somewhere that you can make and use custom textures with the new friendly update. I've done some searching around, but I can't find any info on how you do this in Windows 10 edition. Could someone tell me how to do this, or point me somewhere that does tell me?
You can't do this yet. If you check the News here (see "Minecraft Announcements at E3") "community made" texture packs (and add-ons) are coming, but won't be free and will probably have to go through Mojang/MS for distribution (the "distribution" part isn't figured out yet). Since Win10, PE, and Xbox are all going to be "alike", I'm pretty sure any texture packs will have to be compatible with all three.
The other question is "Will they open up Win10 enough for me to make my own texture packs?" Personally, I doubt it.
Which is the same thing as this one: He "changed a few things" in an existing pack, but never explains how.
As for your video, define "Downloaded from the internet". You never explain how to make them in the first place either, what the permissions are that you need to changed to create new folders, or that you need to be able to view "hidden" folders. So both videos are missing some key information. Looks to me like creating your own texture packs is a lot more trouble than it's worth. Hey, I like texture packs too (I'll be first in line for the "Natural" pack, if they come out with it).
The bottom line for me is that Win10 is changing very fast, and like pistons and horses, more things will come. It is still in beta, after all, and there's no reason to "jump the gun" and try to add all those finishing details yourself yet. Also remember that Win10 is it's own game, it was never suppose to have all the bells and whistles that you're used to, nor be a "replacement" the PC version with free custom everything. (The PC version isn't like Win10 either, by a long shot!) In case you haven't noticed, things have changed, Minecraft is "under new management", and the ole "that's the way we used to do it" doesn't apply anymore. More goodies will come, some that you hadn't thought of. ("That's cool. Why didn't they have that before?!")
Win10 isn't the Perfect Minecraft yet, but, on the other hand, they're just getting started.
Guys, to be clear. I never shown that I make any texture packs or edited it on my own way xD. The fact that I downloaded the texture pack from the internet. I contacted the developer if it's 0.15.0 compatible before I made the video xD. The folder I shown wasn't hidden because Minecraft needs to use it.btw, make sure the texture pack wasn't zip when you pasted it. xD
Btw, I'm gonna make a new video soon that on Windows 10. I will show a tutorial on how to change usernames without buying a new username from xbox ;). Hue hue hue. Lel, I will reply If I did it

Patience.
I've tried editing existing texture packs and it didn't end well. The game quit working and I had to reinstall.
