My daughter has been saving money up to by a laptop and I found some low end systems on clearance at Walmart but I'm afraid they might not be fast enough to run the game. The two I found are an Asus X205T (Intel Atom Z3735F) or a Acer Sky Blue R11 R3-131T-C1YF (Intel Celeron N3050). Should these be fast enough to play this version of Minecraft without to much trouble? Thanks for the help.
If she is only going to be playing the Win10 Edition of Minecraft than both laptops should do just fine, I can not confirm this claim however as they do not give the official system requirements for Win10 Edition of Minecraft. If she intends on playing the full PC - Java edition of Minecraft than the Acer Sky Blue would run it alright, just not great. (Experience varying on offline to online play and population / clutter of a server or resources used.) The full list of the official Minecraft Java version can be found here (https://help.mojang.com/customer/en/portal/articles/325948-minecraft-system-requirements) and the official Windows store page for Minecraft Win10 Edition can be found here. (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/minecraft-windows-10-edition-beta/9nblggh2jhxj) if you have any further questions I will be glad to help to the best of my abilities.
If a laptop can run Windows 10, it should be able to run Win10.
Personally, though, I wouldn't even try to run it with anything less than an something like an Intel i3. Not only will it run Win10 better, but all her programs will run better (you aren't buying this just for Win10, right?). You didn't mention it, but I'd also recommend at least 4 gigs of ram. You also didn't mention prices, but Amazon has some laptops with the specs I mentioned for as little as $240.
Another alternative laptop as long as you do not mind purchasing online is something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA6BM3ZU1695 you can find a wide assortment of laptops, desktops, and pc hard ware on new egg for relatively low prices. The laptop I listed is priced at 400 currently on sale and has an Intel Core i5 5200U 4GB Memory (Ram) and comes with a 1 TB HDD. If you don't mind the price its not a bad deal. Otherwise as Geneo said, Amazon also has a great selection of laptops and desktops to pick from.
She plays several other games that would have lower system requirements and part of the reason for her to get her own would be so I wouldn't have to share my desktop with her any more. Other than that, she just needs Google Docs for school related work. I was planning on getting an i3 in the $300 range but she is pretty far off from saving that much up and the Acer Sky Blue was on clearance at Walmart for $54. For that price it is worth a try either way I guess. I'll probably test it out first anyway to make sure it works ok. If it doesn't, I'll probably end up keeping it anyway and just use it myself. Thanks for the help.
