I have a feeling we both want the same thing REAL MINECRAFT for windows 10. I want it the same as you all, and i miss Redstone repeaters, Minecraft Servers (the real ones), and My resource pack especially. Now i know we all have to want this and im not being ungrateful, it's just i no longer have my saves and i can't play on The Archon anymore, plus i can't even build a Complex TnT cannon and i don't have mods or nothing, If anyone has any idea if Microsoft is making MC good on windows 10 good again reply on the post and if you want MC back for windows 10 like me then use the poll please i don't want spam down there VVV. Thanks
You can still play "real" Minecraft on Windows 10. The original version that uses Java can still be run on Windows 10 just fine and is still being actively developed. You can download it on Minecraft.net.
Uh, you realize there's nothing stopping you from playing the original Java version right? The Window 10 version is merely port of Pocket Edition that's optional. The java verison is still the main version/
The "real" MC version people now have a taste of how good MC could run if it was converted from java to C++, so of course the PC crowd (totally ignoring the phone & tablet users and throwing them under the bus) wants to change Win10 to the "real" MC just for them. (They realize, or should, that phones & tablets can't run the "real" version).
* They forget what the purpose and reason for being of the Win10 version really is. It's not just for PCs- it's a version just so PE and computer users can play together, and we never had a version that plays on different platforms before, not to mention a version that can play with another version.
* All the "Yes" voters above don't realize what converting the Win10 version to the "real" MC would mean. You're changing programming languages. That means all existing customization wouldn't work in a upgraded "Win10" version- mods, servers, server software, texture packs, skins, resource packs, Everything based on java would have to be rewritten (if the modders even could) to the new language.
* Java was a smart move- in the beginning. MC could run on any OS that runs java. With C++ the OS matters. There'd have to be a Windows version, a Mac version, a Linux version, etc. And they'd all have to be maintained and kept in sync with each other. Now let's compound the problem: all customization (like mods, skins, texture packs, servers, etc..) would have to have OS-specific versions also!
I get it. The computer users would love to have "their" old MC run as good and as fast as the Win10 version. Of course, now that they've had a taste of what MC could be, they want it all. But it's not that simple- by a long shot. Remember that the Win10 version isn't filled with all the junk of the "real" version- it's PE-size. Would a C++ version run better than the java version? You bet. But what are you willing to give up to get it? Be careful of what you wish for!
Leave the Win10 version alone. It has it's place, just as the console and PE versions do.
The obvious answer is for Mojang to write another version, just for PCs, duplicating the java version, but in C++ (even with all the problems outlined above). Yep, a "new" vanilla MC... that makes everyone basically start from scratch. I guess that it would take them a least a year to write and test it. (Hummm, wonder what happens to the java version while they rewrite it, or after it comes out?)
But why try to reinvent the wheel? Why dupe something that's already done? If they're going to spend the time and money, might as well spend it writing a (bigger, better) MC2 instead... not that it's way overdue or anything.
To sum up my previous post: forget any "compatibility" between the java version and C++ version. What you're asking is for like wanting Chevy parts to fit (and work) on a Ford. Win10 can never be like the java version. It's not intended to, can't be made to, nor is it suppose to.
As for adding 1.9 features: 1) would it run on a phone?, 2) what about all the previous features that was in previous updates that 1.9 is built off of?, and 3) can we have some the basics first... like pistons? (Sheesh, it took them forever just to fix the trapdoor bug!).
Play the version that has the features you want or need.
You can't play on PC Servers, no mods, no complexity.. That is the point of Windows 10 Edition.
Let us know when you "get it"... cause right now you don't.
I'll help: this is not, nor will it ever be, nor is it suppose to be, like the PC version, nor should people consider it a "java version replacement" . I wish everyone would just stop trying to compare the Win10 version to the java version cause trying to compare the two is the ultimate in futility. Sorry, you can't have it all.
It is what it is. It was made for a specific purpose, and it does it pretty darn good.
Don't expect or wish it to be something it's not.
No, it doesn't have this, this, that, or whatever. But the java version players can't play with any other devices, nor can they play with any other version, nor is it as smooth or fast.
