So here's what I think. PC minecraft is great, and it's also super diverse, because you can add many different mods to it that greatly improve the minecraft experience.
What I'd love to see is the releasing of different content packs for Console minecraft, that add different content that isn't normally in minecraft. That way players can decide whether or not they want items such as guns or advanced technology in their world.
Some mod packs that I'd love to see released for the console version of minecraft would be:
1. A teleportation mod that features teleporters that run on 100 different frequencies
2. Weapon mod packs that add various traditional guns and weaponry, such as muskets, boomerangs, blunderbusses, polearms, morning stars, along with more legendary items such as swords that have unique effects, like wither, the ability to make thunder strike, launching a player into the sky, etc.
3. A Portal 2 Mod pack that would feature portal guns, long fall boots, and other various novelties and items featured in the Portal series, such as laser turrets.
4. A Matrix mod pack that would feature an item (no durability loss) that had the ability to slow down, speed up, or stop time in the world, and affect all the mobs in the world
5. A Technology modd pack that would feature items such as a world anchor (an item that keeps chunks loaded even when the player is not in range, allowing for things to grow and machines to keep working while the player is not nearby) jet packs, anti-gravity armor, beam swords, laser guns, automated item collectors, and advanced machinery that would produce energy, and use various fuel sources to be powered.
6. A Twilight Forest mod pack that would feature an alternate realm called the twilight forest, in which unique mobs would spawn, and unique loot would be available.
7. A magic mod pack that would feature the use of magic items such as magic wands and staves, and the ability to make mobb spawners by collecting the souls of mobs using certain items.
8. A simple mod\d pack, featuring an uncrafting table, and un-enchanting table, and a crafting table in which enchantments on items could be transferred over to books.
These are all mods that are easily attained on PC minecraft, but arent available for console minecraft.
I know personally that I would pay up to $15 respectively for each one of these mod packs, and that the majority of my friends would as well. These mods would greatly improve the minecraft experience, and would allow for the total customization of gameplay.
Thanks for reading! If you like any of these please let me know in the poll, or have any other suggestions please comment below with your suggestions!
They could also give us a game mode that lets us change different aspects of the game such as being able to create skins/textures so we can sort of mod the game on consoles without it actually being considered modding.
Unfortunately, in your poll, you don't have the actual ones I really want the most... MystCraft, multiple dimensions and worlds as well as RedPower 2...
But it doesn;t matter, we'll never get mods on the console version because Sony and Microsoft will not allow it. One of the caveats of consoles. personally, I'd like to see 4J take mods and actually incorporate them into the core game, so they're not considered mods, and the console manufacturers have no say over them...
