This is a great community guys, and I would highly suggest joining if you want fellow comraderies that are into the same things you are. Everyone is funny and nice, and it has been easy to meet a common groun so far <3.
Do you monetize the vids the directors send, and do they get a portion of that $$ when the views start to roll in? I mean, thats probably down the road and something that is one of those "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it" situations, but something I'm just curious about. I'm fascinated by the guys that do it on a larger scale - Machinima, Curse, etc, and their payout structure.
At this point is the payment merely having the opportunity to hang out with like minded individuals, and get exposure through your channel amongst your viewerbase?
Good luck guys, Youtube is a beast, hopefully we can all learn to tame it

That is one of those we'll sort it out when we get there, but yes for now it's a hangout for all to come and enjoy themselves while having their videos viewed by "like minded individuals" in your words. We have a great variety of directors already, and we welcome more! So if you personally are interested and are willing to stick with us through this journey we are more than happy to have you with us.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't see this working out a ton in the beginning stages. At the moment, I personally think (Not 100% sure) that almost all of the Subscribers are Directors. That means that the videos uploaded will only show up on their NewsFeed, and the only way for non-subscribers to view the videos is either through Search, Related Videos, or if the Director shares the channel. The problem with Directors sharing the channel, is likely most of the people applying don't have an active, avid fanbase to see it, which means the videos don't get circulated, and the thing really just becames a database of videos, with no real viewers.
Good luck to you however, if it works out then congrats to you! However I think that this is why there are VERY few actual good, popular ones exist.

You raise a valid point but as you see we have a lot more views than we do subscribers. Right now that may not mean a whole lot but the fact of the matter is that eventually those people just viewing the channel will do more than just view. They more than likely will stop just checking in, and they will subscribe. It's only been 2 days don't expect us to have a miracle number of subscribers just yet.
If it was bigger I would definitely join, but it's small right now. I an't wait to be in a community like Machinima or TGN it's just it's going to be a while until I hit that 1,500 subscriber mark.

This is really sad to see. Not just because of the fact that your only concerned with how big it is, but it goes to show what you really care about, which is quantity and not quality.
The whole point in YouTube isn't to "GET BIG" it's to find others that ENJOY what you like to do. If you get high numbers out of that, good, but why STRIVE for that? When you do that, you take the fun out of something you used to enjoy. There is more to life than getting "big" on YouTube. Simply having this group and being in it is nice because you have a community that shares your common interest, and can share a little piece of their ground with you. People go into these kinds of things for the wrong reasons, and it's not just you, it's other people that commented on here as well. Everyone should keep in perspective what it is they are after. Is this something fun for you, or ultimately you're strive for the lime light which never last long on YouTube anyways? It's a game..... enjoy it, and hope that someone can watch you and enjoy it WITH you.
I've been here for a loooooooooong time.
