I don't mean to copy your idea.. But would it be okay with you I tried doing something like this? I looks like a lot of fun, but I wanted to make sure you were fine with me doing this first

No problem, I guess I did think of it myself but I really wouldn't say It's my idea and no one else can do it. Nice of you to ask though, I'll add a link to your thread if you'll do the same for mine

Okay! Thanks! I just wanted to double check
I'll let you know when I get it started ^.^
Help, It would be a great idea to keep each update in spoiler box's that would make loading the page much easier, but I seem to only be able to make an outline saying spoiler around stuff but not hide it, Is this a new change to the forums and this is no longer possible, or am I using it wrong? I'm using these:

without spaces

Okay now I see, I guess the spoiler thing is different so that you need to mouse over the spoiler outline to see what's inside, but you have to keep it over to see it and I think that would get repetitive, anyone know what happened to the spoilers with a button?

Victory! finally on to the second page, I was worried for a little-while. So
If you like long text in between the pics in this let's play, your going to like this update
I've decided to give the new cave another go, not working out well. I've only been bringing three bacon each time I go and one way or another it get's too low and I have to run away. One thing I learned from this is skeletons below you are a pain in the mass, like in this pic. Every time you get close enough over the ledge to hit them they instantly shoot you and when you come back to hit them again they're already ready to shoot again. So life lesson taken, I'm getting out of here.
A diamond sword would really help me in dealing with skeletons and creepers because it's pretty hard to kill a skeleton at point blank and not get hurt at least once so the fewer hits required the better. and creepers, well if you can't 'double tap' them, you have to dance with them as in hit them and then get back so they don't blow up in your face. So here we are at layer twelve, supposedly one of the best depths to be at where you don't run into lava at face height and good for finding diamonds. I also like how I don't think I'll ever break a diamond sword, because they just last so long and I'm sure always I'll be acting stupid and fall in lava and lose it before it loses all it's durability.
Ohh cool, see? If I was mining lower It would be flowing into my tunnel at this point. Also, this is what I need to complete my basement.
Phew! last time I was doing screen-shots the next pic after I found a cave of lava was my house burning down, But I shouldn't have that problem this time I really hope. I'd probably still continue the let's play and rebuild the house, but I wouldn't be happy about it. One trick you can do is put water down near lava and create a safe place to walk. And then after I did that i left my water in a couple holes because now I need to fill the buckets with lava.
Very ominous, I didn't feel safe walking through my house with this in my hands
Completing the lava pit in the middle. If I ever want to throw something away I'll be using this.
You may be asking why I'd ever need this many furnaces. Honestly I probably won't, but I think It looks pretty good. Also If I have a lot of bacon a thing I do is go to each furnace putting two sticks in with the bacon, and when I've put the last one in, the first one will probably be done. I use to use coal with like three furnaces and rapidly switch out bacon with raw bacon but I think this is better
Here's my new backdoor, which is convenient for getting in the house, but I can't close the door from the outside unfortunately, not that it really matters
All done, looks pretty nice to me. So of course the holes in the bottom are for killing stuff standing next to my house, at one point I was thinking of making trenches that had the same vantage point for cutting legs but that would of looked ugly and I don't think it would of been useful anyway.
I'm almost surprised putting lava in a wooden chest contained only by metal buckets is safe
Coal; Can't find it your first day, Can't stop finding it every other day
Red-stone still doesn't have much use to me right now. Though I have used it in the past, besides pressure plates telling me my free drops are ready, I've built switch doors and double-door openers, but more recently some rookie note-block music. If you have a good idea that won't require more than three to four stacks of red-stone dust, I'd love to hear it
Damn that hoe looks fine
I've found the spot for the greenhouse
And with the magic of television you just took a journey through time. This goes well with the backdoor in my basement, they're only about ten blocks apart.
And a closer look, note the iron door got annoying to work with so I end up replacing it with a wooden one with just a pressure plate
Okay, time travel back to the past, I needed glass to finish the greenhouse and discovered this very nice looking island
Likely the most impressive thing I've seen so far in this world
Haha, I love when Notch tries to push religion on me, so I lit it up with some torches, especially since
It's starting to get dark, and I'm pretty far from home.
If it was my mom being mad at me for coming home late I probably would be in a lot less danger
Decided I was fine with tearing up my lawn for some seeds, but I spaced the lines out to help it grow back faster. Did you know there's a bug where it takes the same amount of time to break a block of tilled dirt with any shovel as it does to with your hand? I Don't even know if anyone else has stumbled upon that but yah, get to work on that notch if your reading this, or more likely Jeb
And a look inside the greenhouse. I have before run into slouches of food where I can't find any pigs like at this point so I may have to resort to bread. Although inferior to bacon it's a more reliable source, plus, if the difficulty 'Realistic' is ever implemented, you will have to eat at least once a week and drink some amount as well, so bread would become a little more helpful. I saw this on the Minecraft-wiki, I guess it's no for-sure thing but it makes a lot of sense. Here's a link http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Difficulty#Possible_difficulties
Also, still love suggestions on things to build, maybe once I have enough I'll use a mod and take some cool screen-shots from up in the sky to show-case what this let's play has accomplished, at least above ground
hmm, k, hopefully It's fixed, takes myself a couple minutes just to fully load this page :tongue.gif:

Yes, I am a girlwho plays Minecraft! I love it Being a violinist myself for several years, this is amazing to me <3
While looking for diamond, I found a cave. In my opinion If you have a cave at diamond layer It's better to search for diamond there than branch mining Because you'll see more surface area much more quickly but then cave systems at this depth are random and most likely you'll stumble upon them by branching
Big and dark, yay. Amazingly I find no diamond here. At times I start seeing it when It's not really there. Like for some reason at the right angle and light with just a glimpse smoothstone can look to me like diamond and I turn around and I get disappointed
A very dangerous shooting gallery. When I dug through to a nearby cave a creeper was right in my face which was fun, but now It's getting what it deserves
This is from when I finished off the cave and went back to branching, but I think I'll come back here later
Since it was 1.4 I decided to go looking for wolves and got caught out at night. Using my compass I started going back when I found this lovely patch of clay. Too bad I think clay looks horrible in this texture pack, but I may still use it somehow. After going home and using a bed I went to another world and searched for wolves for an hour with no dice :sad.gif:
And as soon I come back to the let's play world there's one right outside my house! I think I'll call her Guinness, after a dog I used to have
Good dog, too bad their path-finding won't let them go through doors, but it's certainly better than some mods I've seen. They don't really get stuck on two-high ledges
I cannot describe the pure joy of hitting anything and my wolf then attacking it
Clay's done cooking, 57 blocks certainly isn't bad for one clay deposit
RUN GUINNESS! RUNNNNN :ohmy.gif: if you didn't know, wolves don't attack creepers, for good reason.
Decided to go out and look for more wolves/attack stuff, and found this awesome tree. Never seen anything
like it
And this is my first underwater coal
Getting back to the house late, looks like a challenge. It was actually like a trap, It started
out with just the spider in my way but when I got close the skeleton dropped from the top of the tree.
The battle goes fine accept for when I kill the spider the skeleton shoots Guinness about four times until
I get close enough to finish it off... And then some creepers show up...
I'm only okay because I ate two bacon, but a creeper got close enough while I was still in water and too slow to
get away, with Guinness right in front of me. The creeper took a corner out of my greenhouse and killed my dog :'(
Maybe I should of named her a dog that's still alive Needless to say I slew that creepers brother here post-haste.
This holes fixed up, but not the one in my heart
Made a cake for no reason, certainly not to celebrate anything. I guess in this texture pack it's chocolate
I kinda figured it would look like that :tongue.gif: but there's nothing I can do, but to enjoy a slice of
floating chocolate cake
Seems the farm is doing well, sorry for lack of text in this update, really couldn't think of much to say.
Gone down to explore this cave, hopefully find some diamond. Is it true diamond is more likely to spawn near lava? I've never believed that
Along with some other stuff, our first diamond! I would make a shovel, but I'll get a sword first when I find more, than a pick, and then a shovel
Wow, that was close. mined some iron and lava started flowing in. I got turned on fire but luckily I was able to react fast enough and put some water down. How proud of myself I am right now
Yes another chance! I will name him Kody, who is the son of Guinness and is still alive
Trained wolfs can't go through doors, so I made a doggy door
And then decided this was a better spot for it. They're pathfinding is actually pretty good, and when I go in the house they always follow in through it
Since I've gotten no suggestions I'm making something, starting with this bridge. Can you see all those tilled soil blocks? I later realized they weren't going away and fixed them
To get an Idea of positioning
What's this? Yes it is going underwater, into a rather small pond but I just dig deeper to fit the structure in
Building the walls first is always a good idea
Damn it need more sand :sad.gif: hate having to go collect more resources in the middle of building something
A faster way to burn down stacks of stuff is to devide them like this and place 4 coal instead of 8
A look down into the uncompleted underwater base I guess you could call it, but it won't be very big
I heard there is a way to get rid of all the water in here with reeds but I couldn't figure it out, so I just resorted to dirt
Wow, I really like the look of it. Incredibly I was able to make this without creating areas of rushing water which would of been an eyesore and earsore
I dug into the floor to make a three block ceiling and found the cave with the pit that led to the skelly spawner That's cool if I ever need a way to get back to my house underground here it is
Omg! this is where I took the picture for my 1.3 avatar! this cave has plenty of sentimental value, definitely making a staircase down here.
While going back for more wood from my chest, found my first brown sheep
So here's a look of downstairs into the cave, put furnaces down here cuz they didn't fit upstairs
Sorry for the dent in my usual post schedule guys, it's probly going to be less frequent from now on
I decided to make a proper burial site for not just Guinness but all my comrads who will inevitably die for my cause
Starting the dig into the crypts, I really hate gravel when I'm trying to build something underground because than I have to fill in the hole it dropped down from
Sweet a second wolf, I'll name this one bell, who's sister to kody. So far I've only seen like three or four wolves and they were all by themselves :sad.gif: oh well
A look outside at what it looks like finished. Decided to use bricks in this project, may replace with lightstone if I
ever go to the nether, which eventually I'm bound to
Inside the entrance, there was a tree in the way and I just went with it
Okay, Idk if people think this was a stupid idea or if they're interested but yah here it is. I'll just have the next pics
showing the four different crypts. Basically I'll put the name of the dead wolf on the corresponding grave, depending on how they died mostly. As you'll see I was being a little poetic
Came down to test out how wolfs do underground, as I find out they're not always very helpful
BELLLLLL!!!!!! NOOOO YOU FOOOOOLLLLLLL.... I tried to get out in the middle of the night up this incline, bell jumped in front of my arrow as I was finishing off a zombie... and... now shes gone :sad.gif:
Here's the next project I did. A big tower. Firstly I wanted to use up some cobblestone as branch
mining is really piling it up, and also needed to look nice, which I think I did a good job
Here's a view up through. At the top and two lower layers are viewing levels
And here's a look inside at night
Lastly, far away
So first off, diamond shovel, very fast sand/dirt/or gravel
A diamond pick. Some people say using it on stone is a waste but I think the exact
opposite, When I need stone out of my way I want the fastest way, If I end up using all my diamond
and diamond picks up I can still use iron, which I have plenty of, did I hear minecart project?
And a diamond sword, double tapping mobs is going to taste very sweet
So this is what I'd call my ideal hotbar, Dpick in 1, than Dsword, torches, bow- I like this first four being
like this because 1. I can quickly switch from pick to sword in a hurry, and 2. when I'm exploring a cave
and have torches selected I can easily switch to either sword or bow. I think all video Lp'ers I've watched don't
put this kind of thought in their configuration if they have one at all. Next is Dshovel and either stone or dirt. I keep the shovel close to the bow so I have a weapon next to it like with the pick. Than there's water which is very helpful dealing with lava. Finally arrows and food. I stuck arrows in an unimportant place because they're just there to keep count of my supply. Food is on the very right so it's easy to go from my pick or sword straight to a health boost
more diamonds :3
MOAR Diamonds and also a new cave
must I say more?
Haha this brings back memories
wow, big room, and this picture doesn't show half of it. As I start working my way in a few skeletons see me
and end up below the ledge under me
That's when I got a great idea that will revolutionize modern cave exploring, lol not really but
I realized I could pour lava on them... BURN
So this is where the skeletons that just killed me twice were coming from :tongue.gif:
Oo, this was the real treasure of the dungeon, the chests were crap as usual
Cue the feeling of accomplishment
Cut a hole into the back of the basement and placed a couple chests 1 for food the other for stone and stuff,
I've got plenty of coal so I went ahead and made lot's of smooth-stone just for whatever
Here's a current look at my important stuff chest, I don't know where all my diamond went.
Thanks for reading my lp, bookmark/subscribe if you enjoy!

Andd therefor here we are in the crypt of regret
five, now I can actually make some good tools
