If anyone knows how to help with the whole loading over a hundred pictures at one time deal, I'd be very interested :smile.gif: Oh wow I started using opera with the turbo option and the pictures are loading much faster!
I've decided to run with this lp and hopefully get maybe 10-20 followers by the end of it probably be a nice achievement, and I'd be happy to do more. Anyway at first I thought I'd be having around 8-13 pictures a post but now it's looking like 12-20. I plan on updating at least 4-5 days a week and some days I might update twice if I have the content. Any comments, suggestions, and criticism is welcomed
For viewing an update I highly recommend placing your cursor in the spoiler box, than scrolling down with the mouse wheel, otherwise It will get annoying
New, yet again to make viewing easier, here is a list of quick-links to the updates on the first page Link Update #1 Link Update #2 Link Update #3 Link Update #4 Link Update #5 Link Update #6 Link Update #7 Link Update #8
Can anyone help me with why the link to update 10 works but none of the other seem to?
Alright, well I've already gone ahead and made the first update. I'm using the seed '111' and the texture pack 'the axe pack' to make it look nice/different. If I don't get much feedback after this, I'll probably stop. Just to clarify, I will always play on normal and If I die, well than I'll be pissed :tongue.gif:
This is what I see when I spawned, looks pretty nice
A small cave with coal Already? this is a good sign. I think I'll make my first home in there.
I'll mark it with this pretty red flower.
First thing you do when your playing Minecraft? hit a tree with some bacon
Conservation is key
Haha? I guess a skeleton walked into the light while I was away..
Had to board up the back of my home due to skeletal harassment.
This is actually the third skeleton I'm killing right here, they can't shoot through the hole for some reason
Don't feel like exploring the rest of this cave with just a stone sword, so I'm goin' down
Cool, iron
Here's a view from the back of the house, It's now morning
And from the doorway
Lastly for this example-update, my inventory one day after spawning.
This is really good and I'm enjoying very much. And yes many people like screen shot let's plays and they are very reasonable. But just one suggestion is to put a little more text, maybe paragraph minimum just so we can get more information.

thanks for the help More text probably is a good idea
If you didn't know, this is how you make a watch. when it's all blue it's noon, and All black is midnight. It turns clockwise, of course. Useful for being underground and say if you wanted to stop mining right before sunrise. I don't keep it on my hot-bar. It's one of the only uses for gold besides being used as tools that mine really fast but break as fast as wood I believe. I think notch should add red-stone related and other mechanisms that require gold.
And of course the compass. Tells you where your spawn is. And IF 1.4 ever comes out your spawn will change to the last bed you slept in, but your compass will always point to your origin(first spawn), which I agree with.
Time to use the bed for the first time in this let's play, remember if you have an open hole big enough for a mob you'll be 'woken up' by a mob, and I understand that-that can still happen even if you don't have any open areas. A bug Notch will fix at some point, but Doesn't look like I had that problem.
I'm pretty OCD about harvesting sheep wool, even though I don't usually have something to use it on.
PIGGIES :3 Hmm, I kinda like pigs without mud under them, but idrc.
Awesome, some helpless squid, which of course drop ink for dying wool and that's about it.
I hear a bunch of zombies, dungeon? I hope so, I haven't found one in a long time for some reason, it always turns out to be just a bunch of zombies doing rave.
Found a huge pit, in my experience they don't usually go anywhere at the bottom but you never know, but this isn't in the direction of zombies I then realized, so I'll come back here later.
Found the cave with the source of zombies, Hellooo? any mob spawners nearby? btw I had to kill
two zombies and a skeleton when I broke in.
Pray for me
Sweet, killed them pretty easily. In this situation I knew I could get the skeleton to hit a zombie and keep him off my back so I did and I think that zombie did get a hit off on the skeleton. While that was happening I killed the other zombie. Then I went in a circle with the skeleton and he was able to hit me once before I killed him.
Went in all three directions and all of them stopped short, no spawner :sad.gif: But there were around 6 zombies, so I'm guessing two groups of zombies and a group of skeletons had spawned. This picture is showing me getting more stone picks because I wasn't expecting to go mining when I left my base and didn't bring extra. So with it almost gone I decided to save it for if I come across lower(farther down) minerals. Spoiler: I don't anyway.
Back to that pit, wow, It really is deep.
It Does go somewhere!
I'm glad I went down the pit :biggrin.gif: guess what kind of dungeon it is?
That's Right! skelly dungeon, I recommend what I do right here, get a hole at face height and cut their bony little legs off, just be careful of skeletons at the other end shooting at you.
Just one chest, but oh well. There's also a little cave going out the dungeon but It goes no where.
Mossy cobblestone is often great for asthetic building, I'll come back sometime and get it, my pockets are full.
One bucket and some iron, not the worst chest ever I guess. Never found an apple actually. I really think notch needs to add apple trees which have their own seeds/sprouts.
Man, still am amazed how big the pit is. It's awesome it took me down right to the height I needed to be to find the dungeon.
And to top of my little adventure It just became morning and some skeletons gave me some bribes to not hurt them anymore
Okay, this is meant to just be a short update, just ten pictures.
Time to check out that cave filled with water. I don't think these usually go anywhere..
Ended without any significance, The only use for these I could possibly see is if like I had found this cave on my first day and had a lot of dirt to fill in a floor for a temporary base, but then why aren't there small caves like this with no water at all?
I have no explanation for how a pig died right there.. certainly wasn't me
Frying up all this tastey bacon. For it's amount of healing and it's degree of rarity, I'd call bacon the best food source. I'd call the next best mushroom stew cuz it heals even more but then is much harder to get than bacon.
As you can see, mobs do spawn when you use a bed, poor zombie.
Now this skeleton is smart, using my reed farm as safety to hit me when I walk by.
As you can probably tell, a creeper flanked me as I was busy with the skeleton. It's times like this I question the stupidity of their AI.
You can see I went down to collect the mossy cobble. I'll use it in something eventually. Also this brings up the possibility of a mob spawner trap, as bones and arrows are much more useful than string or feathers, if this were another kind of mob spawner. So I will be doing that, and maybe even build a minecart system to quickly get there and back.
Reed farm completed, unless I want to build something around it. I also need to build a house soon as I have the necessary supplies.
So this is everything I've got, plenty of cobblestone, probably go out and get a stack of logs next update.
Can You say cactus farm? five times real fast :tongue.gif:
Damn it, It's turning night but these sheep are just too tempting.
I do believe that is three skeletons waiting on the hill right by my house
Oh well, I get inside with no problems and go to sleep
I am definitely not cleaning that up.
Cactus farm all ready. For the most part it's just good for barb wire fencing and maybe traps but really that's about it.
A creeper waiting to dive bomb me
Can you guess what we're doing back here?
What do we need an infinite water pool for?
That's right, a mob spawner trap. No more worry about how I'm going to put arrows on the table anymore
Now that the trap is completed, I came out at night to hopefully find some spiders as limitless arrows + no bow is nothing at all. Only two more string to go.
While exploring just a little I found a couple red mushrooms, now I just need some brown ones. They can sometimes be found in caves or right when you spawn because I Guess sunlight breaks them into a pick-up item after awhile and if you don't get them they disappear but when you spawn they could still be there. The real place to get shrooms is the nether, but honestly I hate that place because besides the two common blocks and lightstone which takes forever to get enough dust for a few blocks, there's not much reason to go there. Also it lags me horrifically.
Thank god for X and Z coordinates
In case you didn't know, you can check your location by toggling whatever it is with F3. It will have x y and z, y being height. Ever take algebra? There's also this read-out of something, I don't really know what it's measuring but yah it looks pretty cool.
Found some use for red-stone, as you see it is connected to the pressure plate where all the drops go and when it lights up the 'on' signal travels up into an inverter or whatever which just reverses it to 'off', where than the signal (or lack there-of) goes to a torch on the wall where I'll see it. If the signal is 'off' the torch is lit but if it's on the torch is off. So, if the pressure plate doesn't have something on it the signal will go like this: off(pres. plate.), on(inverter), off(final torch). and vice-versa with if something is on the pressure plate. If you didn't understand that it's best to look it up on youtube than ask here.
Okay two creepers in the same spot, Definitely not cleaning this one up...
In the chest is what I got after maybe a little more than one night standing on the pressure plate.
'Decided it was time to start my house, situated right where you can guess, and also right next to my sugar reed farm.
I've also decided I'll upload the map at the end of this let's play if I get a couple people asking, not that too much has been accomplished Juust yet
Spent a couple of hours today on the next two updates going up tomorrow, try to contain yourself with all the accomplishment and forward progression you will soon witness XP no but yeah lot's o' shiz gets done up in here
Hey you should check out the voltronarmy.com. It's a small little LP community that could help you with your recording problems and they would also love this.
Hey you should check out the voltronarmy.com. It's a small little LP community that could help you with your recording problems and they would also love this.
This is inside the front door of the house now under construction. I'm looking at the pressure plate, and I was just going to point out how if you put it on the inside there no mobs will ever get into your house through it and you only have to click on the door when you are coming in. I hate turning around to close the door
Pigs like walking in here
But for some reason whenever I go to hit them they make the perfect jump to get out quickly, it's happened
a couple times. I wonder where and why that's programmed in their AI?
A look from the front stone-porch, not yet completed.
I tried running to my old house to get stuff but a creeper and some zombies insisted I take a swim with them
YES, COME HERE LITTLE SPIDERS
YES, it is BOW time.
And I noticed this tree, ohh what to call it? bilingual? bicentenary?... bisexual?
I'm just shortening the reed farm so It doesn't come right up to my house, sorry for the small amount of text in this, I'm mostly just showing what I've been doing
Now that it's day I can transfer my stuff in peace, and this time I'll organize it into different chests
Gotta get more sand to finish the windows. I could also harvest my cactus farm but I don't need cactus or green wool right now so I'll hold off on that
I've decided to appropriately name my old home the hobbit hole

Please give me some feedback
This place may not have huge mountains but it still looks quite nice
cool, reeds.. or sugar cane... or reeds? ha, they shouldn't be the same thing
Today's excursion from the outside world, the meat wood and feathers anyway
Always light up the way from your spawn to your base
This will come in handy when I'm building stuff, but not for now
Time to clear out the area behind my home, hopefully it isn't too big. -lol
The biggest room I find
Took me a second to realize it was sandstone
Ends with a small pit, it was a medium length no-branch cave
Some kind of water-filled surface cave, I'll check it out some other time, probably not that big
Perfect spot for the sugar reeds
so, again, feedback ect. Next update which will probably be up in another hour is has a little more action
First, bedrock!
Okay, okay, getting closer to the water..
Found it
Scary :ohmy.gif:
Haha, I feel sorry for that zombie
Oh god, this cave is gunna kill me..
I went through a branch and came back and my zombies gone! :/
Hope I don't fall in...
Really hope I don't fall in..
I fell in..
Long story short, got my stuff back, found first gold around corner
First red-stone 5 seconds later
And first lapis 2 seconds there-after
Cue the feeling of accomplishment
Comments/feedback/posts saying nothing but how this let's play idea sucks ass/suggestions highly appreciated
