You can only find Netherrack in the Nether.
Chrono more than likely placed it there as part of the storyline.
The video is still loading for me though.
Good series of videos though, Chrono.

Incorrect. It's SUPERB rare, but possible to find netherstone underground. Portals have also been confirmed to be possible.

Cry a river. Punch a tree. Craft and build a wooden bridge over the river. Use your bridge to GET OVER IT.

Um, no it is impossible tt find netherstone underground. Please provide examples of this.
There is no reason for it to be generated underground except by a chunk error.
I would even accept snippits of Code, this is the first time I have ever ever heard of this.
I need a lot of proof. Because to be honest, it makes no sense at all that it's even in the code that it can generate. Especially in large chunks.
And if you watched his video, you would realize that the netherstone leading to the portal is without a doubt man-made.
The game cannot generate a pathway of nethestone in that formation. It is not in the code.
IT is more likely that diamond will be generated on the surface than Netherstone in that particular formation.
And please, I know portals can spawn rarely, but they are almost always above ground.
They can spawn below ground, but only 16 blocks above bedrock?
In a fully spherical room? With lavafalls, and all sorts of impossible to generate artifacts? By that, I mean it can only spawn via human creation.

I ahve to agree with you, I'm quite sure that kind of formation is impossible to be generated. It's just part of the story :smile.gif:
For what it's worth, it's definitely not there in the basic map. That seed has no netherrack in it at all. I don't particularly care either way, but people in the video comments are convinced this is proof of "nether biomes".
Chances are he logged in and used single player commands (Since he uses toomanyitems, I wouldn't be surprised if SPC was there too) and noclipped to the bottom of the world below her house and built a chamber. She'd obviously hit it eventually if she kept digging down.
I figured he did put it there, but Monkay sure confused me.
Sure, maybe the game can spawn Netherrack in the real world, but I think finding 40 skeleton riding spiders in a row, from a dungeon, which is set to never spawn them, :smile.gif: , and then mining 400 gravel and getting 400 flint from them, by using a torch, which again, is coded to never be allowed, and then finding diamond in groups of 30 or 40, without using a more veins mod, and then finding a treasure chest filled with 300 golden apples and a full set of diamond armor in a skeleton dungeon is still more likely.
And yes, I mean all of those in a row. Literally, that should be possible first before finding Netherack outside the Nether.
Sure it's possible, but I'm going to say it's going to so rare that it shouldn't happen in my life time.
And yes, I mean, anything close to what I saw in that video.
If say some chunk error spawns 12 netherack randomly in a cave system, I'll accept it as a huge flaw. But only if a chunk error caused it.
But exactly like that, that's not going to happen.
So, yes, it is indeed man-made.
We'll see why he did it soonish. I don't care that he faked it, I just want people to realize that it would never happen naturally.

So Chrono, what is up with the netherrack room down there? It does look awfully man-made. Awesome, nonetheless, I kinda wish formations like that did appear in the game.
Just open up Jessica seed and check for yourself, I did and it's a set up in case your wondering :smile.gif:
Thanks for checking. I've got Jessica's world, I just didn't feel like trying to retrace her steps and mine into that cavern. Is it just a big empty cavern, or was it hollowed out for the "nether room"?

Unless you install some serious Spawner mods, it is impossible to get a Spawner to spawn Skeletons riding spiders (also known as Spider Jockeys officially). I've tried making Risugami's Spawner GUI to change the spawners to Spider Jockeys, but they just aren't in the list of mobs. I've tried installing other custom mobs and I can set spawners to spawn those. Someone should investigate how Spider Jockeys are formed/spawned.
You did read the rest of my paragraph, right?
The entire thing was saying that if the impossible happened first, then yes, then this game will spawn Netherrack like in this video, in a cave, naturally occurring with a lit portal and everything. :smile.gif:
I was simply making a joke about how it is totally 100% impossible for this game to spawn Netherack exactly like in this video.
Or for that matter, in any cave at all. Unless someone can find the part in the code that allow netherrack to spawn randomly in normal areas.
You should have gotten it if you realized I also talked about finding 40 golden apples in a dungeon and a full set of diamond armor in the same dungeon. :smile.gif: Also, the fact that I said 30 diamonds in one vein. :smile.gif: Without installing a more veins mod.
Perhaps I should have said naturally occurring blocks of diamonds 430 blocks squared :smile.gif:

Thanks for watching guys. It's pretty fun to watch the debate in the comments :iapprove:. This is actually my most commented episode besides the first one!
As you guys know, the 1st season ended, so I won't be posting more Jessica World episodes for a while (at least 2 weeks or so), but I will still be posting entertaining videos to my channel. I've got some footage of Jessica playing Amnesia (oh god), we did another Q&A session, I'll be putting up previews of the next Grizwald adventure map () and I might do another redstone tutorial on RS-NOR latches.
Anyways, be sure to subscribe to my channel, as I probably won't be posting the filler content in this thread :wink.gif:
i can totaly picture her going outside for the first time in the 1.5...

OMG THERES BLUE STUFF FALLING FROM THE SKY AHH AHHH

5 minutes later:

edit: i dare you to completly change the texture pack, something that totaly confuses her.

please hook up a webcam so we can see whats happening irl.
Pretty sure during the Q&A portion she told us that this was the original intention, but that she didn't want to do that.
