I need a good, fast screen recording program that can record system sound. I don't have any money, so fraps and camtasia are out of the picture. CamStudio is too slow for me, and the system sound recording always errors for me. Do you have any recommendations?
If you can't pay for a program, WeGame is probably the best you'll find. I've had some troubles getting it to record sound, but hey, you may get it to working (I never spent much time fooling with it as I use Fraps).

Well there are only so many options. If you want the best stuff you're going to have to pay. I recommend Fraps highly. It's really not even that expensive, being only about $37 USD (pretty affordable compared to Camtasia's several $100 price tag).
WeGame is the only half-decent game recorder I've heard of that's free. :/

Well I'm pretty screwed then :/ My dad would never let me pay >10 dollars on the internet.
thats how my parents are unless I give them sources of validity like if my friends bought it and it worked, give a friend the money and see if their parents will buy it maybe?

I did just remember one thing. There's XFire. I've heard it's pretty decent and I know it's free. You have to download the program to use the recording app (it's not primarily a recording program but can be used for recording). http://www.xfire.com/downloads/
Download and install it. Then look up tutorials on how to record with it (I'd explain it but I've never used it for recording, so I have no idea how to really).
Maybe that can work for you.
Expression Encoder (the free version) is great, though it has a 10 minute limit for each recording. The paid version has no limit, but is not cheap at all.

Thanks for showing me encoder, that 10 minute limit doesn't bother me (it's fairly larger than 30 seconds). It has great quality, fast recording, and an amazing video editor. And knowing that it's made by Microsoft makes it that much better :wink.gif:.

This works pretty good for me, I think it's my crappy computer that lags it up. There's a 'Lite' free version, it doesn't say what limitations that implies.
Gamecam sucks
Hypercam sucks (As far as audio)
Camtasia sucks (In a sense that it's the easy way out. It's not a game recorder and people get confused when I tell them that)
Fraps is.. ok if your computer is good.
Wegame is.. ok as well I imagine, but for minecraft, probably sucks.
Haven't tried expression.
Xfire recorder... Not sure.
No such thing as a good recorder really. Fraps is probably the best, but it's highly computer intensive. If your computer sucks you can set it to half size which halves the resolution it records with, making it record better. Quality will slip though.

I'm going to stick with Expression. Since it's made by Microsoft, you know it's good (or ok) quality. It comes with it's own advanced video editor, and (of course) a recorder. It can record certain areas, or you can set it to record everything. I personally prefer Expression over fraps and camstudio (the only two recorders I ever tried). Thanks for showing me that, and for you, you get

It doesn't recommend Minecraft as a game and it always crashes when I finish recording games it does reconize.
