I oppened a port through my firewall and my freind gets the error "Cannot Connect To The Server" do i need to have hamachi in order to do this and if im doing it wrong how do i do it?

You don't need hamachi if your ISP allows people to connect through the port you are using. You can setup the port forwarding all you like but if your ISP isn't allowing all the traffic through to that IP then it won't matter.
Setting up Hamachi is a great work around if your ISP is being jerky.
