Ever since the 1.0.0 update, Minecraft freezes, crashes, and slows down. I don't know why, and I've heard other people have had this problem. This is out of the blue too, like randomly. It sucks too when you're trying to PVP and then it freezes.
It doesn't freeze for a LONG time, like 5 seconds at the most, but it freezes so close together. For example, if it freezes, it will freeze for 5 seconds, be unfrozen for 1 second, and then do it again. I constantly have to keep Task Manager open to force stop the process. Can someone please suggest a fix for me?
Specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.83 GHz
Nvidia GTS 450
4 GB RAM
Windows 7 32 bit (could the 32 bit operating system be a problem?)
I can't post my Java version right now because I'm not on the computer I have problems with, but I'm pretty sure it's the latest Java 6.
Idk, it could just be a thing.
Try lowering the graphics settings. I have a 32 bit computer with 1.87 GB of RAM, but as long as I keep it at Short render distance I'm fine.

Well I got almost same problem, whenenver I set distance to far, it keeps nice and smooth 60+ fps
But after like 5 minutes it starts lagging like a hell, but if I do use normal render distance, it is always smooth...
My specs are:
core i5 (4 cores) 3.33ghz
Nvidia Gtx 460 gpu
8gb RAM (2x 4gb)
and win 7 ultimate 32 bits
So I'm thinking in some way, it's the 32 bits fault.

I think so too.
This never happened before the 1.0.0 update though.
