I'd like to know which command do I have to use on a .bat file to start Minecraft with more memory on a 32bit machine. I've tried but it says that it couldn't create the Java Virtual Machine.
I allocated 512mb and it works just fine. I use Magic Launcher.
Not only it lets you allocate ram easy but also install mods fast and check for compability.
Once you download it go to setup it should be above login and go to the advanced tab there you should see the screen resolution and under it the memory allocated to the game.
On a 32bit Machine the Minecraft defaults are almost at the upper limit of what's possible anyway.
If you insist on forcing more memory when you probably don't need it, and will only decrease your performance by doing so, then keep in mind that the max memory for a 32bit Java heap is around 1.3G
The thing is that one friend of mine when hes playing on my server tells me that he has frequent crashes. Sometimes just 1 minute difference and the reasons is that Mine screen where it says: "Minecraft has run out of memory.."
