Hi im new to this community but i am not here for introductions, see i'm buying minecraft soon but i cant get to minecraft.net every time I try i get: "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to minecraft.net"
and I erased all my cookies and restarted my internet connection and it still is saying that, ive heard that if you have this problem, later on when you get the game and you try to log in, it will fail. So i ask your help i really want to play this game.
I know about this problem. Someone has blocked off Minecraft. Try to check in the HOSTS Configuration file.
Navigate to: C:\\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\etc
There should be a HOSTS file there. Open it up with Notepad.
It should have alot of text and somewhere it should say something like:
xxx.xxx.xx.xx (Instead of the X it should be an ip adress) minecraft.net (and/or http://www.minecraft.net)
Delete off all the minecraft.net you can find and the IP's next to it. Save it afterwards and restart your computer. Try going onto Minecraft.net now.
If you can't do this yourself then please upload ur HOSTS File (CAUTION: DO NOT DELETE IT) to a file sharing site and then give me the link so I can download it and tell you exactly what to do. If you do trust me then we can use TeamViewer.

this is the only thing in my host file, also i don't know the minecraft.net IP and even if i knew which IP (s) should i replace it with?
If this does not work then i have to send you a copy of my HOST file.
1. Delete 127.0.0.1 www.minecraft.net and 127.0.0.1 minecraft.net
2. Save the file.
3. Restart computer and try to connect to minecraft.net now.
4. If that doesn't work then try deleting 127.0.0.1 194.28.157.42. But do not remove this one before you've tried the first one I've told you.
