I have been trying to get minecraft classic to load. It will download and load but when it gets started it will just turn black or gray. I am running off of OpenJDK and icedtea. I have set the default Java and everything like that but it will still not load. I have all the requirements. I have 4 gb of ram and 64 bit software. Is ther anything else I need to do?

Other things in java still work. I can run the offline mode by running minecraft.jar and i can run the server.

I believe icedtea was the java version for the browser.

What version of ubuntu do you have? if you have 10, go to the software center and search for all things Java (just to make sure you've covered all of it)
OpenAl is also required. If THAT doesn't work, I believe another forumer told me to change from OpenJDK to something else...I don't remember atm, because I'm using my windows computer right now...

I am running 11.10. I do not have OpenAI. I will try that. Thankyou

I installed it and it still gave me trouble. It did load some more things though but that is about it.
