I've been reading posts since 1.2 was released about how with this update people can't get Minecraft to work anymore and it gives them GL Video Card Error messages. Everyone keeps saying to update your video driver or java, but it isn't working for any of us. I think theres an error with 1.2 and it needs to be fixed instead of just telling everyone its something on their end.
Example? 2 weeks ago I played Minecraft fine. I had Java 64 installed, latest video drivers...etc. Well my hard drive died and I bought a new one (and reformated). I made typical reinstallations of things that were there pre-reformat. I did however install Java 32 instead of 64.
I downloaded and installed the new 1.2 version of Minecraft. It played fine on Java 32. So I exited and uninstalled Java 32, reset computer, installed Java 64, restart computer again. I tried to start the game and suddenly it gave me that dang GL Video Card error message thing. So just to make sure I wasn't crazy I uninstalled java 64 and went back to Java 32 and it worked fine again.
I realize to some playing with Java 32 may not be a problem. But I have a good gaming rig and used Java 64 before no problem. I'd really like to use Java 64 for Minecraft so I can install the better textures (HD). So why is it not working since the update with Java 64?
