The only thing that differs 32-bit from 64-bit is the fact that the more -bits it has the more memory you dedicate to it. for example, if i had an 8GB processor, and a 32-bit java, i would only be able to allocate only about 1GB to minecraft. so, if i had a 64 bit, i might be able to allocate, say, 4GB, and so on. so, if you had a bigger java, it doesn't run smoother because there is less memory it is allowed to use. so if you had a really obsolete computer, that had, say, 500MB of memory 64-bit programs would still run slowly. so, the only person to blame for all this nonsense is notch. he was probably thinking "Oh, everyone who's gonna play minecraft is gonna have a crappy computer with 2GB of memory because they're idiots. i should warn them to use only programs that don't lag" or what could have happened was that there was a bug that caused java crashes if minecraft didn't have enough memory and you were playing on the 'far' render distance, so he was warning you about it, especially since the update that brought the warning was around the rise of the modders, which also caused more memory to be eaten up. so blame him ---->
First of all any software that's 64 bit runs significantly faster than 32 bit software.
To install 64 bit java you need:
1) A 64 bit OS
2) A 64 bit Web Browser
1) If you're on Windows 7 then right-click on "My Computer", then click "properties", It'll say next to "system type" whether you have 32 bit or 64 bit Operating System. If you have 64 bit then you can move on to the next step, if not, then too bad.
2) The only two stable 64 bit browsers I know of are:
-Internet Explorer (64 bit), an official 64 bit version (ew..IE).
-Waterfox, an unofficial stable 64 bit, but otherwise identical, version of Firefox (Firefox FTW!!!).
So get one of those (they're also a lot faster than their 32 bit counterparts), I recommend Waterfox, because as you probably know iE is terrible and firefox is quite nice and speedy.
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF GOOGLE CHROME?!?!?! It's like the uber fast internet browser! BTW, I can run at far render distance (with optifine and game booster) at about 2 fps AND I've got a school distributed laptop with 32-bit win7 enterprise, 2 gig ram and intel core I3. But if I run a 64x texturepack with normal render distance it's about 10 fps?? WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!
