Alright, so I've been playing Minecraft for about a year now and I've never had trouble with it running slowly recently. When I open Minecraft and start playing, it runs at 60fps-80fps. But after around 2 minutes pass, it starts dropping and eventually gets to 10fps-20fps. I think It's a problem because I am sure my computer is able to run Minecraft on max settings without breaking a sweat. To solve this problem I've tried;
-Searching for a solution
-Closing background applications
-Stopping useless processes
-Setting the priority higher on Java
-Reinstalling Minecraft
My computer specs are;
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 820 Processor 2.80GHz
RAM: 6.00GB
System Type: 64bit
Graphics Card: Radion 4350
My computer is also able to run games like Team Fortress2 and Modern Warfare2 on highest video settings, so :tongue.gif:
I've had this problem myself recently. Does your graphics card have a fan on it??? Because in my case, I found the performance dropped dramatically because the fan on the graphics card had stopped working and therefore the graphics card was overheating... Hope this helps if it is what the problem is! :smile.gif:
I wouldn't think it's overheating because a game like Minecraft really isn't supposed to put a lot of stress on your computer. If it was overheating, I would have problems running other games also.

I had the same problem as well.
I tried to install the wonderful mod called Optifine which improved my overall performance on Minecraft.
You could also try to just stand still for ~30 seconds and see if it gets better. If it does it might be that Minecraft drops FPS while loading / generating the world.
Also try to install the latest drivers for your graphic card.
If you are on Java 5 or bellow, update to either 6 or 7. (Also make sure you install the 64bit version if your CPU can handle it.)
Good Luck with your problem, Mity.
Thanks man, I think I'll try it.
