So today I decided to play minecraft again. I opened the client, put in what I'm sure was my username and password (It's the same thing I always use), and it said can't log in. I tried again, didn't work. So I tried each of a few passwords I used a very long time ago even though I'm sure I got minecraft after I started using my new password, none of them worked. So I went to minecraft.net and said "Forgot my Password". Put in my username and it said an email was sent. So I checked my email, nothing. I waited 10 minutes. Nothing. So maybe I had the wrong username, I went back and said "Forgot my username". I had to put in my email, which i did, so now I knew it would be sent to the right email. It said it had sent an email. I checked, nothing. I checked junk, nothing. I checked every folder, nothing. I waited 10 minutes and checked every folder. I didn't get an email.
I can't log in to the minecraft client or on to minecraft.net, and I can't get my username/password back. What's up with this? I definitely didn't imagine paying for a minecraft account, I have the receipt in my email archives.
Mine is doing this do. I can't log into the Minecraft launcher anymore for no reason whatsoever. It worked fine earlier tonight.
I know the authentication servers were down earlier, so apparently now they've broken it so you can't log into the launcher. So in short, its apparently more broken than it was earlier tonight.

I can login fine.... so there authentication server isn't down.
Well it's now been over half an hour since the first email should've been sent, and nothing. What could make sending an email take so long if the server wasn't down?
I did read that thread. None of those things are my problem.

Really!
-If you have forgotten your minecraft username.
-If you have forgotten your minecraft password.
-If you want to change your password.
Sounded to me like those are your problem?
Because from your 1st post :-

You requested a reset of your password and waited 10mins.
Ok so first of all, how would linking me to that page help anything? I've already done exactly what it says on my page, and am waiting for the email, so clearly I don't need to know to go apply for a lost password. Hence that page isn't my problem.
Second of all, is there some reasonable time range I can expect the email to show up? It's now been over an hour and 20 minutes. I'm I looking at <2 hours kind of thing, or a week kind of thing?

Usually within a couple of hours....
Are you sure you are checking the email account that's linked to your minecraft account?
If not then you may want to check all your possible email accounts. or try the...

I appreciate your trying to help but come on dude you're sounding like an outsourced tech support guy now. I have read that thread. I have done what I need to do to retrieve my username. It did not help. I did not get an email.

Again, it would help a lot if you would tell me what to do with that link. Because as far as I can tell clicking on it and reading what's on the page isn't doing anything helpful. I've been through every one of those help trees, and they all end with some workaround solution for a problem that isn't mine (and something that's exceedingly obvious nonetheless). None of them say anything about what to do if you don't get an email. None of them even mention that as a problem.
I saw that someone earlier today was having the exact same issue. I would say there was some actual issue with their email server, which hopefully they're trying to deal with. (I also saw that the only help that guy got was you linking the same page you linked me acting like it had the right answers).
Mine is working again now. I can log into the Minecraft Launcher so that's good.
Though not many other people were saying anything about it so it may have been a problem on my end of some sort.
Either way, at least its working again :smile.gif:

If you had read the thread that i linked to in my previous post :- http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/524445-minecraft-account-help-read-before-posting/
Then you would have noticed this :-
And if you had read further... you'll notice that It may take longer than 10mins to receive the confirmation E-mail.

Yep, as I said in my OP, I even requested my username which means I typed in my email to them to get them to send it to that email.
