I am at a complete loss here. I am working on a town and i am at a point that one section keeps reverting back to the original part that it was before i place blocks or remove them. It just keeps going back. I am running pre4. i had some mods put in, but then tryed vanilla. Still does it. I even did stuff in mcedit. From mcedit i go into minecraft. everything i put in is there. then i exit the map, it says it saves. then go back into the map and its right back to default. it is getting frustrating. any ideas? i am currently defragging my drive to see maybe if that would help.???????

No I'm not on a server. Besides unless it was changed the protection you're talking about, wouldn't let you add anything or delete. Period.
On words.
I just tried other areas work fine. It appears I have a rebellious chunk. I go back into mcedit and remove the chunk itself and then tell it to add another one in. Go back into minecraft all is as it was. Then go to menu and back into map. And boom right back to where I started. Agg it's getting beyond frustrating.
Sounds like a bad chunk. I'd check the recovery sticky.

Did your world disappear from minecraft? Is it corrupt? Lags? Can't move? "Saving Chunks" Crash? Crashes when you open chests? It can be saved!
