I was playing Minecraft 1.8.1 earlier today. Everything was fine. I just tried going onto the servers that i play on...and the server lag was unbearable. No one else had any. So i tried playing some SP...SERVER LAG! Everything in SP acted as if I were in SMP with terrible lag!

I had nothing but Minecraft running and I tried restarting Minecraft. Nothing! What the hell is going on? I have never experienced this problem before.

Restart your computer.

Do you have batch files set up to allocate more memory to Java?

I had the same problem! I couldnt get it to go away either so i just re-installed minecraft, hopefully this works

I tried restarting my computer. Nothing changed. I will try uninstalling and reinstalling though.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No go. The very core of Minecraft itself is lagging like a *****.

You could also try 1.9 pre4, it fixed some errors I was having with 1.9 pre3.
