And if it's a really popular one, such as Industrial Craft, there are plenty of Youtube videos for both Windows and Macs.
it's actully not that complicated. you just take out the contents of the mod and put them in your minecraft jar. although it depends on the mod, sometimes there are different things you have to install. all in all, it's simple.
