its kinda annoying. is it a bug or something? or does the game just hate me? how do i stop them from spawning by my bedside! i wanna sleep through the night, not die in my house in the middle of it.
no no no if your door has grass under it or ur floor is dirt/grass that will do it ive had that to
This is incorrect.
Mobs will wake you up if it is possible for them to spawn within a certain distance on you. I believe the wiki has an article and an illustration of this.
There is also a bug that can cause you to wake up, even if monsters cannot spawn around/near the bed. If you place your bed next to a 1-block thick wall and mobs can spawn on the other side of said wall, they will wake you up. See this pic for an example:

What is this thing you call logic?
...Oh, but I threw that away last week...
Best solution, build your room out of half steps mobs cannot spawn on em, bed one block away from the wall ligthing up places within 10 blocks and then sleep.
Also using half steps gives a bed that sleeping bag look :biggrin.gif:

I assume that the outside of your house and (some of) the surrounding area is well-lit?

I am muchly in agreement, except for the "Real men" part... Real men don't have blocky bodies :tongue.gif:
