I can't connect to Minecraft.net or multiplayer. Minecraft.net will simply NOT show up, and Multiplayer doesn't work either.
I've tested it with the command prompt. When I try...
ping minecraft.net
...in order to test the connection, I get
C:\Users\Rammite>ping minecraft.net

You'll see here that it connects from my computer to minecraft.net sucessfully. Four times.
But when I do...
ping minecraft.net -r 1
... to record the route it takes from my comptuer to minecraft.net, I get this:
C:\Users\Rammite>ping minecraft.net -r 1

My computer simply CANNOT connect to Minecraft. It knows minecraft exists. It get there and back - 4 times! - but it doesn't know how, and doesn't remember the way so it can't show me Minecraft.
I think alot of people are having this problem.. it stops you from logging into the minecraft launcher.
I am having this problem aswell.

All that to say, I think you're using a broken diagnostic tool. If you want to trace the route to minecraft.net, try:
tracert minecraft.net
Oh, right, whoops. I don't use the command prompt often, and the help command pointed to to that.

Thrice does it time out, but I can still connect. Several months ago, when I had this exact problem, It timed out more than half the time.
I honestly don't have the slightest clue as to what to do. When I had this problem before, it cleared up on its own after 2 months, and I didn't have any idea what cleared it up.

What is that supposed to do? Best I can tell, it doesn't work over the Internet.
If I ping one of my local computers, named debian, I get this:
OK, awesome, I guess.
Now, I try the same command with google.com.
