When I play minecraft I get a variety of framerates. Sometimes I get 60, 30, 120, 180 Frames per second. My problem is, whenever I'm using Fraps, it sticks around 4-7 which is UNBEARABLE. Any way to fix this without saying things like ("Use Optifog!", Or "Use Gamebooster!"

Ok to make this short and simple, your computer sucks, get more ram and a better processor :smile.gif: im guessing u have around 2-4gb if ram which isnt enough to use fraps and record a game without lag.

You may need a better computer but you cans till try these steps:
Well FRAPS will make almost anything lag a lot so you're not alone at all. What I would suggest is changing your computers resolution while recording. This will use significantly less CPU, and will cause less lag. If you have windows 7 right click a blank area on the desktop and click "screen resolution", then change the resolution to something low like 800x600, which is still a decent quality. I would suggest playing around with different resolutions until you get the best quality with the least lag. Also, what you see is not always what records. You may see lag while recording but that lag may not exist in your recorded video file at, it's just feedback lag caused by a lot of CPU usage. You may see that 4-7 fps but the recorded video file may actually be around 30-40. Hope this helps and good luck.

I know it sucks, it's just I can record with Hypercam with no compression perfectly. I don't see why fraps always decreases it to 4-7 FPS.

I'll try that. But sense my minecraft itself is dying, Fraps records it dying too.

FRAPS is extremely extensive on any computer. Also make sure your computer and video card is compatible with DirectX9 at least. How much ram and free space on your hard-drive do you have, also your processor /processors do you have? Cause I have around 180 GB free of hard-drive space and 3 GB of ram and a 2.66 GHZ quadcore processor, and FRAPS records at 30-50 FPS for me with max resolution, you don't need more than 4 GB.

Hmm that should be plenty. Not to sure why you are getting lag. I would recommend updating your video cards drivers possibly, running a virus scan and restarting your computer, sorry I couldn't completely fix your problem but I hope I helped in some way, good luck.
