Minecraft has been steadily been lagging more and more since I bought it back in April. When i first bought it, I could run Fancy, Normal fog with no lag...and since then it has been going downhill with lag. I had to change it to fast, and went down to Small (or whatever is below normal)because it was lagging so much, and that seemed to fix it for a while. Then it started lagging again so I turned off bobbing and went to tiny, and it is still lagging! I dont know what is the problem.
I am running 32 bit Windows 7 with 2GB ram and my graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 6150.
And earlier today, I vacuumed out my fans because I read someone had the same problem, and that seemed to fix it for him, but it didnt help at all for me..
Just tried it. It seem to lower the lag a little, but it still lags. I used to could play with no-lag. it was very smooth. and now its like skippy...
Try the following:
1. Use Optimine+Optifog.
2. Update/reinstall Java.
3. Update/reinstall your graphics card drivers.
4. Force-update Minecraft (this will erase your mods)
5. Defrag your hard drive.
6. Close other running programs.
7. Scan for viruses/malware.
At some point, you have to accept that Minecraft is in Beta, and it is horribly inefficient, and Java is a horribly inefficient language, and together, these cause problems on even the best of hardware.

Its already up-to-date.
