Now that I have your attention, I'm quite pissed off with the work I've seen with my game.
I can play single player, that's it. Just single player. Why? Because multi player doesn't work.
It's inexplicable as to why mutli player in minecraft has never worked, not worked since OCTOBER... since BEFORE beta, but I join a server (even one running on lcoalhost) with various versions of java (jre16u24, jdk7) and nothing, sometimes I'll get one chunk, sometimes I'll just fall infinite. Either way: 100% CPU usage, and a read disconnect error on the server side. This only happens on my computer too.
I thought it was a networking error at one point, so I tried both my Linksys Wireless WMP54g card, and my nVidia LAN GBit controller; both get the same thing. I've even tried with various amounts of RAM, and different sticks of RAM to rule out memory corruption. Still the same thing.
I can play single player just fine though.. I wonder if anyone has any idea as to what's happening? I've paid a tenner for a single player only game... the same thing you get with a pirated copy, single player. I thought he might fix it eventually, with all the "updates" *cough*merging mods into the base*cough*

You didnt buy a game. You donated for development. Which its still in.
Also, MOST servers suck and arent set up correctly, or cant handle being used unless its local. So thats most of the problem right there.
EDIT: Also, why are you on a service pack that was released 7 years ago? Maybe you need to update windows.

My windows version is up to date (All security updates and hotfixes), so the service pack itself is not important at this point. I have set up all the servers myself, both locally and remotely; and while I am able to connect and play fine on other computers, this computer is not able to at all. It can connect, but gets the issue described above; so this does not seem to be a server configuration issue.
I know I did not purchase a game, etc etc, I know the whole development speech and have heard it all before; I'm just not happy that while my computer can run Crysis, it can't run Minecraft. (Note to Devs: And yes, I understand that the scale of entities in Minecraft often causes extreme load on graphics cards, but I've been able to emulate this many textured entities in C++ / DirectX with almost a one-hundred fold increase in FPS)

I have tried the following Operating Systems with the same problem:
Fedora (LXDE Spin)
Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 (currently installed)
I always play Minecraft through the JAR, but here are my browsers anyways:
Internet Explorer 8 (never used)
Firefox 4.0 RC1
Internet Connection: DSL/Cable (50mbps dl/6mbps ul)
