I started running a Minecraft server and the lag I recieved made it unplayable.
I know it's not my PC or my internet connection because I've hosted a Team Fortress 2 server with little to no lag.

I have 2GB of RAM, but I only want to play with a couple of friends so I didn't think this would be an issue.
I have an i5 CPU (Intel Core i5 CPU 750GHz)

I've tried many of the solutions to similar problems (changed the task's priority, allowed more RAM to be used, tried a server wrapper) and the lag has not decreased at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd be ever so grateful.

Is the lag constant? Or have you stopped playing as your server started up because it was lagging?

The lag is constant.

I set it to use 'core0' as specified on a forum post (uncheck everything but core0) and it didn't change anything.
