So when i opened up the minecraft client once, i typed in my usual information. it said my information did not match. i went online, and it said that i was still signed in. I checked my "profile" page, and clicked on the "change password" option. i typed in the old and the new, but it said the old did not match. then i checked the email address. it was a whole different email address, and i had never changed it. I think my account might have been hacked. i cannot get the new password, because it sends it to that email address that was changed. i really need help with this. for all i know, some creep might be using my account to grief people
You likely fell victim to a phishing scam. I just emailed [email protected] and told them what happened, and I gave them the transaction information from when I purchased my account. Hopefully they help me, and hopefully it will help you too.

well, idk how i could have fallen for a phishing scam, because i have NEVER given my account information to ANYONE

I know last night I was really tired and didn't notice it, but someone posted a link that was supposedly to a thread, but really it brought you to a screen of this website where you needed to log in because you were logged out for some reason. I was tired and didn't notice the web address wasn't actually what it was supposed to be.
Did you do that?
my account was hacked too seems to be a growing problem. hope they can fix soon. i would like to play again or get money back at least so i can start over

oh noes, i did do that.... im scared now... i remember that thread...oh no.... i was wondering what that did...
Did any of the mods delete a topic yesterday that was spreading a virus or something? it was called something like "I NEED HELP! LOOK AT THIS!!! IMPORTAND!!!" the guy posted a fake forum topic url, which was actually the url to a phishing page. It looked EXACTLY like the Minecraft forums login page, so i unknowingly typed in my username and password, and looks like the flippin freeloder got my login information
EDIT: I talked to the mod who deleted the thread with the phishing url in it hoping to get some dirt on the guy, but apperantly he did it on a fresh account with a proxy. now, my sole option is to wait for Mojang to get my message, which could take weeks. I'm 12, and Minecraft was my Christmas Present. So now, i am very depressed.
Considering Notch's poor professional programming skills the server backend must be flawed too. It's not unthinkable someone performed a simple SQL injection attack...Scriptkiddies can do that nowadays. That [email protected] sounds like a dutch or belgian scriptkiddy.
well, i hope mojang gets my email soon, cause who knows what this douche can do with my account in the WEEKS itll take them to reply
My account is also bonged. I don't know if the accounts were taken though. I suspect it may have something to do with the new gift codes, in that they don't verify information correctly when an account is created, and end up overwriting another account. There was already a problem with the gift codes, this may have been part of it.

I didn't use a giftcode, and I DID fall victim to the phishing days ago. As did Starwarsfan35.
I just fail to ever understand why anyone even hacks, phishes or steals information. It's just a PC game, just let the users play. I see no point to stealing information from dedicated fans of a game. With all that knowledge it takes them to go through all this, they obviously had to put some cash into it somewhere. More money than Minecraft is even sold for.
They're a waste. A waste of my time, a waste of everyone else's time, a waste of space.

His theory is that someone's gifted account overwrote yours, not that you used a gift code.
Sorry, I read it wrong. That does make sense as well. I think that, along with the phishing, is happening.

This is far too wide-spread for it to be a coincidence. I have never accessed any phishing sites before.
There has got to be some sort of breach at Mojang. I think someone must have stolen our accounts from the server.
Mind clicking the Egg after you click the adult? I still need to perform some CALIBRATIONS.
A breach at mojang? that sounds punishable by law.... you think it could be so? I'm pretty sure I fell for a phishing scam...
Whats the point of learning from your mistakes if you can't laugh at yourself while making said mistakes?
