So about a week or two ago, I tried to login to Minecraft but it said login failed so I assumed there was a problem with notch's account server. The next day I tried to login again, and it had the same error, so I tried to login to the website...same error. I know for a fact I'm using the right username and password. So the only thing I can think of is someone guessed my password? Brute forced the password? And unfortunately the password recovery system is not working. I have emailed Notch twice as well as @'d him on Twitter but have not received a response. Any other ideas before I go to the last resort?
They're currently working on fixing the password recovery system, something about e-mail services not allowing bulk e-mails. However, some people have had luck with the Password Recovery system--it seems to be an off-and-on thing.
If it is still not working for you, you may want to try emailing daniel(at)mojang.com.
Be sure to include your paypal receipt/transaction number!
I had my password recovered this way and in a very timely manner. Not to be rude in anyway--I really mean no offense to you or anyone else reading--but please be polite when requesting your password change. For an employee to manually attend to an account is something I consider beyond the call of active duty, and would hate for him to start ignoring emails. Good luck with your account!
