For some reason the game will play slowly for me for about 1 in-game day. After that the game runs fine.
I just noticed now that it appears the reason for that is the Minecraft uses an extremely large amount of RAM, in the case just now, just over 950MB of it.
Its not much of an issue on my machine as it is running WinXP with 2GB of physical RAM, and a custom sized 1GB pagefile.
I'm just wondering if there is any particular reason why it would use so much.
If it helps this is what I did in the game just now in case this is the reason:
Playing World 2 which is only 4.46MB.
1) I was running the game full-screen.
2) Had done a fair amount of exploring. (World 2 was ~2MB when I started this play)
3) I had 'save and quit to title'.
4) Minimised the game to watch a YouTube video.

See...I kept telling everyone that wolves are evil despicable creatures, but would anyone listen? No, of course not, and now you're all ******, so "haha...told you so".
