I found on Youtube this video named "Solution to 'Could not create the Java Machine" Error for Minecraft', and I tried what it said and now I don't get the windows error sound when I try to open the launcher. I copied the instructions below but I didn't make them, that was someone by the name yourgamingxp. PS. this does work on an windows xp system, just leave open the command window that forms. HAVE FUN!!
Okay, I finally figured it out so here is the steps.
1. Go to http: //www. minecraft. net/ and download Minecraft.jar program(must have purchased Minecraft Alpha).
2. Save it to your desktop
3. Open up a new notepad document and copy this into it.
...I have no idea if you were having the same issue as me but I had tried all the other things that I had seen on posts and such and nothing but this worked so far. So depending on what error you're getting a different solution might be needed. I hope something works eventually for you tho!
This is simply amazing. I've been having the black screen immediately after login problem for months now, and using this finally solved it. You may want to post this solution in the thread "More Black Screen After Login Threads!"
I should note that my computor froze at the title screen, but at the moment I don't think it will be a side affect of the solution.
