Well upon further research I was able to Update my video drivers after all and i'm now running Minecraft. Thank you for the help anyway, but now I feel stupid :/

Never mind, I got it working. I tried I hink Muhai's Or whatever his name was trick. Worked like a charm. Thanks man! I owe you like, Seven million. (Seriously. A whole month of trying to get it to work, and your's worked.)
Ok, now the command prompt says:
C> "command : -java Xmx800m -jar "C:\Users\Jack\Downloads\Minecraft.jar"
'COMMAND' isn't recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I also tried it with the extension "Minecraft.jar.exe" where I got:
Specified COMMAND search directory bad
Too many parameters
Too many parameters
Too many parameters
Too many parameters
and "Minecraft.exe", where I got the first error message (I have a copy of all 3)
I'm starting to hate my computer. Assistance?
Open notepad, write (cut & paste):
java -Xmx800m -jar Minecraft.exe
and save it in "C:\Users\Jack\Downloads", or wherever is minecraft.exe, as minecraft.bat
Run minecraft.bat from "C:\Users\Jack\Downloads"
I have this same problem, but doing that did not fix it. still says not a recognized command, operable program, or batch file.
My error is different. When I type the command in I get "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect" I know the file name and directory are correct. I've inputed the command about ten times and get the same thing every time. I'm not sure what to do.
Open notepad, write (cut & paste):
java -Xmx800m -jar Minecraft.exe
and save it in "C:\Users\Jack\Downloads", or wherever is minecraft.exe, as minecraft.bat
Run minecraft.bat from "C:\Users\Jack\Downloads"
This worked perfectly for me. All other options that came before Mihai Manole's did not work for me. I'm using a lenovo thinkpad laptop. Thanks, and let us all learn from that.

The above is a foolproof way to enter the command. If you doubt your interpreting/typing skills USE THIS METHOD.
the text file will have ONLY one line, don't put spaces, returns, or anything else after it:
java -Xmx800m -jar Minecraft.exe
Make sure your computer shows file extensions. Then rename the file you just made to end in .bat rather than .txt
Place it in the same folder as Minecraft.exe
If you have something unexpected happen, double check that you typed everything right, and then use your powers of interpretation to test alternative interpretations of the instructions. If you are anywhere in the ballpark of what we are trying to get you to type/do you can't damage anything.

Im having a completely different problem and i've tried Mahai's suggestions along with all the others in this particular forum. can anybody suggest what i should do. or re-encompass the steps (in order) i should take to fix this....
I've also dealt with but encountered the errors of not being able to locate the files or damaged files..
And plenty of others, including updating my drivers and installing java ( had "JAVA" is not a internal or external command")
You frickin' ROCK. Can I say 'frickin' on this board? Anyway, it worked with my "Intel Mobile 4 Series Express Chipset Family" video on my laptop, so I'm VERY happy.
BTW, here's an easy way to do what you posted...
1) Rename 'Minecraft.exe' to 'Minecraft.jar'
2) Right-click on 'Minecraft.jar' and select "Create Shortcut" from the right-click menu. A new icon will appear.
3) Right-click on 'Shortcut to Minecraft.jar' and select "Properties".
4) In the 'Target' blank, you'll see something like this: "C:\Documents and Settings\yippie.skippy\My Documents\Downloads\MineCraft\Minecraft.jar"
Arrow all the way to the beginning and paste this: java.exe -Xmx800m -jar
Now you should see: java.exe -Xmx800m -jar "C:\Documents and Settings\yippie.skippy\My Documents\Downloads\MineCraft\Minecraft.jar"
5) Click the 'Apply' button, then the 'OK' button.
6) Double-click the new shortcut, and start mining! And crafting!
