Has anybody experimented, or had success in adding colored text to a language file? I'm assuming color is controlled by alternate files and code within the game itself, and would probably take further game modification to do, but thought I might ask and see what people more knowledgeable than me have to say about it.
I believe that colored text in a language file (In theory) Could be done, Ik in game the color code &(1-9 and a-f) can be used to edit color. I can not say for sure whether or not that can be done in game, It may be achievable by finding that files that control font color when text is selected in-game (Like hovering over options, single player, and multiplayer) and using that same input to input new data for regular text. I hope this helps you, good luck!
Colors can be done using §. I'm not sure if the colors show up when used in language packs though. Try using § with a hexadecimal behind it (i.e. §7 or §e).
Tested your theories out. Results? Well, it seems the ingame color codes don't work in a language file. &4 is a no go, and §4 actually breaks the font and reverts it across the back to a standard unicode font. Perhaps another type of formatting could do it?
More Tests: A unicode color format such as "\u00a73" is also a no go. This is a format that can be used to customize a texture packs description in it's pack.mcmeta file, long shot, but was worth a try.

Any more ideas?
