Hello, I am looking for a good host to run my server on. Currently I am hosting my server on my computer, which is a problem because it is slowly wearing out my computer and using up my internet. If you are a hoster, please read this, It probably seems like I am asking alot for my price range but I need all of this and this is basically all I have.
SERVER MUST BE/HEAVE:
Around $20.00 a/month.
MUST be 24/7 with at least more than 98% uptime.
2 GB Dedicated and 3 GB Max RAM (We could settle for something like 2.5 GB if you want)
MUST HAVE FAST PROCESSOR OR DEDICATED PROCESSOR SPACE! If a server with 25+ plugins takes more than about 4-5 seconds to turn on then that's not enough. (Maybe i7 or Xeon)
Must have a relatively large reserved internet bandwidth, If my server lags because of slow internet then that isn't good either.
Must have a nice control panel / remote control system, and it must be fast! I need to be able to edit .yml files from the panel and need to have access to all files.
I need this hoster to trust me and to allow custom server software, I use Bukkit RTK so I need to launch it with custom launch code.
This server needs to support more than 1 port, I wish to add dynmap if possible. (I dont need a website)
This server should not run on the default port, as 1.3 causes this to LAG!
This server's hoster(s) need to be friendly and provide information about any server issues/details/faliured.
If I think of anything else I'll add.
If you are interested, PLEASE comment below, If some of these can't quite be met we can talk this stuff over, I hope to get in contact with any of you that can make this possible
Hello, I think our 2GB "The End" plan is perfect for you. Here are it's specs;
4 vCPU Cores
2GB Dedicated RAM
50GB Disk Space
$22/month
I think it's best if I just answer your questions:
Around $20.00 a/month. $22 Per Month, as discussed above
MUST be 24/7 with at least more than 98% uptime. Our servers have maintained 99.97% Uptime to this day, according to Pingdom (Server uptime monitoring service)
2 GB Dedicated and 3 GB Max RAM (We could settle for something like 2.5 GB if you want) 2GB Dedicated RAM.
MUST HAVE FAST PROCESSOR OR DEDICATED PROCESSOR SPACE! If a server with 25+ plugins takes more than about 4-5 seconds to turn on then that's not enough. (Maybe i7 or Xeon) We use Intel Xeon E3-1270v2 Processers, and our customers have had no problem running 100 slot tekkit servers on our systems
Must have a relatively large reserved internet bandwidth, If my server lags because of slow internet then that isn't good either. 2TB of Bandwidth per month for our 2GB RAM plans (more than enough in most cases), and our nodes are all connected at 1 Gigabit on a Premium network that is more than suitable for gaming.
Must have a nice control panel / remote control system, and it must be fast! I need to be able to edit .yml files from the panel and need to have access to all files. We use the SpaceBukkit Control panel, however it's YML editor is a bit buggy. You do, however, have full FTP access to every file on your server.
I need this hoster to trust me and to allow custom server software, I use Bukkit RTK so I need to launch it with custom launch code. Guess what? We already use RemoteToolKit for our Control Panel . We offer you full SSH access to the Linux Terminal of your server, so you can install anything you want on top of that (eg. Mumble server, webserver etc.).
This server needs to support more than 1 port, I wish to add dynmap if possible. (I dont need a website) We use dedicated IPs, you can use ANY port on your IP.
This server should not run on the default port, as 1.3 causes this to LAG! Not exactly sure what you mean, however you can run your server on any port you wish, as we are offering you a dedicated IP.
This server's hoster(s) need to be friendly and provide information about any server issues/details/faliured. If your server is not working altogether (and it's our fault), we will help you fix the problem ASAP. However, we do not provide support for plugin issues etc.
Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.

Hello aaronfranke,
We at clanoutpost gameservers can offer you a 2GB minecraft server for $20. Our boxes use xeon-E3 1230 32 GB of ram, once the box reaches 80% CPU we get a new box, this gives the box 20% to move around in which is good enough for any game not to lag.
Our website is www.cogameservers.com We can offer you 4 locations, Chicago, Frankfurt Germany, New York and Dallas. Our NY and Dallas location is currently having a sale $7 a GB so you can get a 2GB server for $14 or a 3GB server for $21 a month. Click the link below to go to the discount section of the site
Your server will be up 99.9% of the time that you have the sever with us, only reason why it will crash or be down is a defaulty plugin, which none of them should be defaulty because we check them before making them live.If there is anything you'd like to learn about us please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

Sounds very nice! One thing I forgot to mention: do you limit the amount of slots per package? Do you have a demo panel? This looks awesome! (These questions can please apply to the other hosters too?)
I think MossyCoble can Help you out http://mossycobble.c...aff.php?aff=215 You can go for our Zombie Plan or the next one up whatever fits your needs It's up to you.
No...
My friend uses MossyCobble, even tho their servers are fast, their internet and control panel suck
Hey Aaron,
Check out our Stone plan. It may be what you want.
It's not $20 but if you send me a PM I'll give you a custom coupon to make it $20.
Let us know if you have any questions.

So your gonna cut your price in half??? Hmmm... I've used a host with this type of interface before, the way it was is that it was fast at first then eventually slowed down until my server to 1 hour to restart fully

You don't sound very professional. Defaulty? Don't you mean "Defunct" or "Faulty"? Define boxes? Does location matter if I have players from all over the world joining? When you say you check them before making them live, do you mean I can only choose from a small list of plugins and have a shitty interface?
Thank you for all your time. I will be looking at all of your sites and features and reviews in-depth, as I would simply HATE to end up like last time... all of my server files lost in a laggy world of hell... I had to start fresh
Anyway, Thank you all! From just these posts, SimpleNode seems rly good
Sounds very nice! One thing I forgot to mention: do you limit the amount of slots per package? Do you have a demo panel? This looks awesome! (These questions can please apply to the other hosters too?)
No, you can set slots to anything you like; 1-9999
I'll PM you with credentials to the control panel account for our demo server Contact our support, and we will set you up with a 24 hour free trial.
We can offer you 2GB for $21.95 per month, with 50% off your first month. We own our hardware to provide the best reliability, and offer free plugin support and management with all servers.
Based on Multicraft for best reliability. Tech support response times are 30 minutes - 1 hour, usually quicker!
Our 3GB plan is actually the same price as simple nodes 2GB plan.
3GB dedicated ram for only 22.5 dollar!
We do not offer these normally , so if you want one contact me using support on the site: http://sunsethosting.co.uk/contact
We can also offer you a 3 day trial, check out: http://sunsethosting.../cart.php?gid=2
And after that, notify me so I can upgrade it to 3GB.
Then you can decide after three days if you wanna keep it.
I might check this out if simplenode doesn't work out

I think he has more than that, he's probably just mentioned NC+ and LB as they are some of the more complicated and resource intensive plugins.
K, I contacted support, I got worried when he said the server took that long to startup with only 2 plugins EDIT: Should I register to start the trial?
EDIT 2: Lemme explain what I meant, this doesn't really matter since you are giving me a dedicated IP but it is probs good to know
This server should not run on the default port, as 1.3 causes this to LAG! Not exactly sure what you mean, however you can run your server on any port you wish, as we are offering you a dedicated IP.
Since the Minecraft 1.3 update came out and the new "Scanning for LAN worlds" feature came out, this new feature makes it so that servers running on the default port of 25565 get an incredibly high ping (like maybe even 20,000 ms!) So servers these days should be hosted on a different port, I prefer 25566 as my port cuz its easy to remember

I've never heard of that before, and I haven't really seen anyone post/complain about it. Are you sure it's that, because many, many servers run on port 25565 with no problems?

It's just the ping that lags... here's a imgur post I threw together for you and anybody else that wants to know. Also, all of the posts that complain about this are on the bukkit forums because at first people thought this was a part of bukkit. http://imgur.com/a/WQI3x

That's... strange, and it's a phenomena that I haven't seen before.
Ping on your computer isn't that useful, unless you expect all your users to come from your area.
I live less than 30 miles from my datacenter, and get 30ms ping on my servers. Somebody in Europe would get about 200ms, so it really just matters where you live.
The best thing is the test ping across the country, as it tests the network better than just pinging it from your computer.

That's still very strange though. From his screenshots, he's saying he's getting better pings (even though the ping bars in Minecraft arn't exactly accurate) from 1.2.5 then in 1.3

I know that, but if you get the mouse over numbers, and compare it to the numbers you get when you type "ping serveriphere" in CMD, you'll get vastly different results in most cases.

Why do you use other companies' service? Why not just host it on your own...
