Hello all i was just wondering what server hosting companies you use. Which one would you consider to be a good deal and work well. Also i need to be able to still have full command of my server files and things like that. I've heard of a few good ones but before me and my server team invest money we want to be sure we have a good one. Suggestions anyone?
wrong section!!! this thread should be in the mine craft server hosting requirements sub forum under server hosting!
I would suggest beast node, snaju, and verygames
Personally I've had bad experiences with CraftYourBox.
Their customer service was not too good and their hardware is subpar, at least the node they put me on was, I was working on a big project that I had with a few other people and for the first week everything was great. The Sunday after I bought the server there was a hiccup with their WHMCS automated billing system and it accidentally cancelled my server, so I was "hey it happens" so I let it slide, and luckily my files where saved and they brought my server back up. When it came back up it had a bad 10 second chat lag and I verified it was not on my end, it took them a week to fix this and their support constantly ignored me, even on live chat, I understand they have other priorities but when someone goes to live chat and starts talking and then the operator says hold on one sec and doesnt ever come back then there are issues. After going through another week of that I finally got into contact with Connor, one of their managers and he gave me a month for free for all my troubles. After all that happened and the fact that I was patient enough to go through it all without showing anger directly at them I just did not want to use their services again.
I've read a couple of reviews saying they've had bad experiences with them as well, but theres only a select few and maybe we were unfortunate to get on a bad node/ server, thats just my warning but if you're willing to try go ahead, who knows you may get great service from them!
I suggest Exodus Hosting, they have quality hardware and I've been using them for 2 months now, their prices are decent as well.
One other host that has a good reputation for their prices and quality hardware is Minecrafted.net, but they dont offer much support I dont think.

As far as the actual thread, I reccomend DaddyCheese. Pretty cheap and very good service. Support is excellent too. Definetly reccomend it to anyone looking for a good host.
If you wish you may try us. We offer free trials as well as sponsorships on occasion. Our servers are in texas and we use OpenVZ. That means we sell VPS's not shared minecraft so you control the whole thing via a VPS Account, Virtualmin (system/site panel), and Multicraft (Minecraft panel).
We can not claim to be the best as thats just pointless. Though our clients HAVE been shocked in how little ram their servers use. What we CAN claim is no bull hosting, no gimmiks, and true honest hosting.
Feel free to try us. We also offer VPS hosting, with a SpaceBukkit control panel preinstalled.
You have console access, and full FTP access to every file, including the server JAR. All our servers have unlimited slots, set by you (up to 9999 slots).
If you want a free trial of our servers, feel free to email me at [email protected], and we can setup a free trial for you of our servers, so you can see how awesome they are
We also have plenty of reviews on Minecraft Forums, here are just some:
I could not be happier over the last couple of days that I have been using a Simple;Node server. Everyone knows the wear and tear that goes on during a server's startup. Whether it's builders using WorldEdit to clear hundreds of thousands of blocks or management installing and testing plugins. There has been absolutely no problems and setup is progressing even better than on any host I have been with before.
Even my staff has nothing but good things to say about Simple;Node. Their support team has been informative and helpful before the order and have continued to do so even after.
So here's a quick breakdown of my experiences as of late:
- Almost instant response time from their staff (I have never received responses as quickly as I have from any other host)
- SSH Access (After running my own server, this is great to know they also provide this)
- Great control panel (Tons of features. Couldn't be easier to use even though I haven't seen it before Simple;Node)
- Free Webspace and sub-domain (I have my own hosting but this is great for any starting-up community or community that wishes to migrate hosts)
- Absolutely no lag besides when we replicate/remove/make hundreds of thousands of blocks at one time with WorldEdit. And even then it processes quickly.
All in all, possibly the best host I have used over the last nine years (HL1, HL2, minecraft). I would definitely recommend renting a server from them.
The server has been running great for a couple of days now! The staff has been super friendly, specially Thomas and Alex. I can totally recommend this service.
Word of advice though, if you are a noob at managing a server, like I am, they (according to their ToS) charge fees for helping you out with plugins ,technical stuff and so on, so you may want to stay away if you are poor/new to server management =P
I say "technically" because they have been very helpful so far without charging us a dime, an for that I am very thankful.
I can't give a definite statement of their speed and downtime yet, seeing as how I'm such a new customer, but I can say with confidence that this host has, by far, the best customer service to date. At least, in my opinion they do.
Here's a screenshot of my experience with some of their staff members:
This is only the first of many positive experiences I predict I will have with this host.
In addition, I think I can say that this host has a great deal going on atm.
for $22 (2048 MB) I'm roughly getting:
- Unlimited Slots (I set it to 60 for now, we'll see if I can actually handle that many XD)
- SSH Access (I'm not the biggest fan of control panels, so I like that I can directly interact with the server)
- A Control Panel (Pretty easy to use even if you're a beginner )
- I can install a VOIP client (Ventrilo/Mumble) on my server through SSH for free if I want. )
- MySQL server (For plugins that have to write a lot of entries [CoreProtect, etc.])
- Free Webspace (Even though I'll probably never use it)
- Free subdomain (My IP is mushroom.simpleno.de instead of 66.85.169.39)
- And they just gave me free access to SolusVM (It lets me monitor my VPS statistics and even restart the entire virtual machine)
There's a bunch more other stuff that I have yet to tinker with. But for 22$ this is an AMAZING deal I think. And I'm paying for their highest tier, that says something about their prices...
I should mention that I used their promo code and got 30% off for the first month, so it was only 15 bucks. Use it before it runs out.
But yeah, If I'm still with these guys next month I will be sure to write out a more definitive review. If you're on the edge still trying to decide on a host, then I can say that you should definitely consider this host. With all the services they provide at this price-point, I really don't see how anyone can go wrong with them.
FYI you should be able to get the control you need. We offer full VPS servers not shared with multicraft installation. So you get SFTP with root, and FTP access on every MC server you spawn via multicraft's FTP server.
Theres no slot limit, just resource restrictions.
So contact us if your interested in getting started.
Edit: We are also a web-host with free/paid hosting and could possibly give you a deal on that as well .
Since you choose to argue with us: We also have gigabit ports, which you do not seem to have.
