Hello guys. Please forgive me for being a newb, and asking the same question that countless newbs before me have asked. Thanks in advance for your answers.
I would like to pay for server hosting for a private FTB Unleashed or Monster (I haven't decided) server. Private meaning it's mainly for me and around six friends, give or take a couple people. Oh, and I'm disabling Mystcraft, so there won't be a ton of extra worlds eating the memory/cpu.
Can I do this with a 2GB of RAM plan? My budget is ten bucks. :/ I may be able to go a little over that, but definitely not more than fifteen bucks. I thought it might be okay since it's only a few friends, but again, I don't know much about FTB servers. I've played on them, but never hosted one or paid for a hosted server.
If this is laughably impossible, feel free to laugh at me, but try to contain your inner troll, haha.
Add: I wouldn't mind some server hosting recommendations, either. I'm currently researching a bunch of different hosts and reviews on them, but I'd like to hear from people who have experience with them.
It is indeed possible to get a modded server on a 1.5-2GB server depending on how you "play your cards". I would personally talk to your friends if you haven't and "boils" the mods down to what you guys really want to play with. For instance do you really need x amount of tech mods that most cross anyways? If you guys really do this right then it's shouldn't be problem doing this. Heck even considering creating a mod pack yourself if you find it hard to do this with a "ready made" mod pack.
Yeah, I probably will take out a couple, but I really enjoy the whole ftb experience, where you can move onto a different type of mod when you get bored with say, thaumcraft. You could then move onto one of the many other mods in the pack.

Yes I understand that, it does get boring sometimes however even removing some will do something. Just do a "balance" between conserving resources vs. having fun and it should works out in the end. For example if your players really enjoyed your server then they ought to donate to you some times to help pay for a larger server.
Thank you Mitch. That deal seems too good to be true, but almost all of the reviews I found on shockbyte hosting are good, so I guess it's legit. I think I will use your service and find out for myself.
