Hi guys! I am new on the minecraft forums but not new to Minecraft! So I wanted to bring a discussion! What do you think minecraft 1.8 will bring and what you think should! I think 1.8 should add new mobs! Such as mummys! Please give me your responses on what you think or should Minecraft 1.8 will bring!
Nerf village trading
Nerf boat sprinting
Nerf horse speed (They can go faster than minecarts)
Nerf iron veins
Nerf witch drops
Nerf Fishing poles
Remove charcoal
Reduce zombie detect ranges
Reduce lag when monsters can't reach a target
Unnerf zombie door breaking
Nerf iron golem drops
Fix slimes can't swim/jump out of water
Nerf beds
Nerf a few potions like fire resist to only 50%-70% fire resistance instead of 100
Add levels of strata to mining
What i think it will bring is a lot more boring wood types, possibly cherry trees. Probably 1-2 new redstone device or mob, edits to the hot/cold biome system, and some messing with the light engine.
And lots and lots of bug fixes for the bugs 1.7 added.
I want some new cave gen features. Something like giant hollow caves with lava seas, or maybe sand could also generate underground? I also wouldn't mind some new bosses. Oh and Green (or blue) Dragons. Not red, because red dragons are too cliche.

What i think it will bring is a lot more boring wood types, possibly cherry trees-It was a joke. Probably 1-2 new redstone device or mob, edits to the hot/cold biome system- Not happening (no more terrain changes)., and some messing with the light engine. And lots and lots of bug fixes for the bugs 1.7 added.
You didn't have "nerf strength potions". I agree with the bolded ideas.
I think 1.8 would have red dragons, cars, villagers that doesn't look like squidward ,better villages, rouge villagers, easier modding, more of a rpg inventory, tanks ,flatscreen tvs, computers that you could play minecraft on,and cloning stuff

Isn't villager trading already a loss (except for the bug with enchanting)? The only thing I would do is take melons out of their sell options...
Hopefully, the update will contain something like a new dimension or nether/end improvements in addition to general overworld improvements (specifically structures and new, harder areas that warrant the existence of iron and diamond as tiers). It'll probably be something that won't help the game, though, like a building update.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
Hey now, what'd charcoal ever do to make you so unhappy? I'm all for nerfing iron golem drops though.
If I had to guess, I'd guess that Mojang will add a few new items/mechanics, fix a few bugs, unintentionally add a few bugs, and bring Plugin API a lot closer to completion. People will complain about the lack of a million new features, the terrain (Which I personally believed drastically improved as of 1.7), and the difficulty (And lack of, for some people).
I want two new game modes, ones like create, other ones like the survival. But both require internet connection. This is were my imagination gets crazy. In the new create mode limit the type blocks you can use and you can create only 2 chucks worth of stuff. Once your done creating you can upload to a server ran by mojang. Than the other game mode like survival can than randomly add player created content in to your survival game as you play it. It would be awesome to have the random generation than little piece in between downloaded randomly from a server full of user content. It would change the whole game.
1. More options for world spawn (x,y,z minerals more/less common)
2. More worlds to explore (Aether? Others?)
3. More end game material in general
4. A level below bedrock that needs a special tool to mine (new mineral to find in the end/nether to make this tool?)
5. Make a world anchor type block vanilla. (Anything that will keep other chunks loaded)
6. Rare boss mobs that spawn in specific locations
7. More hidden rooms like the sand temple, rainforest temple or even mob spawning rooms.
8. Consider red stone expansions, there are a lot of good mods that could be made vanilla.

God bless ye soul.
"Hark! Dost thou hear with thine ears what I hear with mine? Interloper! No quarter shall be shown hither, fiend! Anon! Show thyself, churl! Have at thee! *fires, misses, gets shot at* Fie upon thee! What-ho, the laser on mine rocket launcher be not a mere target, but a guidance system! Where art thou? Come hither, that I may smite thee! *shoots the Apache down* Thou shalt not be missed."
Haven't done one of these in awhile. Not much has changed, but some has.
- Wood colors for doors and fences
- Seconding the idea for bigger doors (gates?) in general
- Harden Clay stairs and slabs
- Colored beds
- Furniture
- More stone walls
- More stone/quartz types
- New ores or gemstones
- Improved villager AI
- Zombie nerf (I don't recall they ever fixed this yet)
- Ocean content
- New bosses (ones that don't grief everything in sight, preferably)
- Awesome loot/rewards for killing said bosses
- More things in the Nether
- New biomes and tree types are cool too, why not
