I use redstone all the time.
Why aren't you satisfied with all of the updates NOT focused on redstone... you know... everything from(excluting repeaters, pistons and tripwires) beta 1.2 -> Release 1.4.6?
Oh yeah
So I see that update 1.5 will be dedicated to Redstone. I think this is ridiculous! How many people really use Redstone? I think this update may cover about 5% of the population of minecraft. I mean how many people are really going to know how to use all this new stuff added to Redstone!?! I would much rather see an update dedicated to client-side improvements and stuff like the modding API. I can't even play the game without performance-enhancing modifications to the game. And now they want to add some ridiculous Redstone stuff!? I am sick of them adding features to the game and not concentrating on fixing the current game. I think these developers have some thinking to do. What were they thinking to dedicate an entire update to Redstone? I am really starting to lose faith in the game and I think that the developers are doing a trashy job of maintaining the game! Sorry if I am ranting but I'm really ed off. What are your thoughts? This entire paragraph was done with Dragon dictation by the way.
1. These are free updates, so you have no reason to complain.
2. Much more than 5% of people use redstone. You don't know what you are talking about.
3. You want client-side improvements and a modding API? They're working on it, so shut up.
4. There have been tons of updates not relating to redstone. Now, there's one and you feel the need to rant about it? Be patient and wait. There will be more updates, and not every one will add redstone-related things.
5. Truthfully, just about no one cares that you don't like the upcoming update or agrees with this rant. With this opinion, you are in the vast minority.
So far they added inventory changes and the ability to smelt netherack into netherbrick! Jeb also said that the nether quartz will have a block form that will look like marble(Aesthetic block likely). Like others said this isn't all redstone related and redstone has affected many people's minecraft experience.
Aww, is someone jealous that they can't use redstone? Don't worry bro, I don't know crap about redstone either. And I've been playing since Beta 1.7! But I don't complain. In fact, I'm trying to learn more about redstone than just rant about how bad I suck at it.

I don't like how the update's coming along. I think they should only add things in redstone that cannot be done any other way.
The Daylight sensor block can easily be simulated by a villager and a small house. The villager would run out each day, triggering pressure pads at the door, therefore making a signal. What even needs the redstone block? you can easily just push a block using a piston on top of a torch to simulate that. However, I think that the block that pops items into chests is a good idea, because there is no other way to do it.
People like you are the kind who made Coe stop. "Like 5% of people use redstone" Not true, many MANY people use redstone, Etho, Sethbling, B-double-O, Pyr0_0, Me, And many others. And im getting tired of people calling this
update the worst, im loving it (No offence Mc-Donalds) because i haven't played Minecraft for 4 months because it's just too laggy, but they are rewriting the rendering engine so it will run on more low end comps. I think that jeb is the BEST thing that has happened to Minecraft. -A Minecraft Addict, R3D24

That daylight sensor is highly inaccurate and unreliable.
The new redstone blocks can be used to make a new type of BUD that isn't possible with the block moving over a torch concept.
Precisely, with the other posters. I wouldn't call myself a redstone expert or anything, but I still think that this (1.5 update) is a great update.
I would also never go so far as to call myself an expert, in fact, for the longest time, I hated redstone. I had no use for it. Now, however, Ive incorporated it into most of my worlds in different ways. Even the block of redstone has more uses than I originally imagined. It turns out to make a gorgeous armor for statues.
While the stuff in the update is more advanced, I doubt only 5% of people will use it. Everyone want performance updates, but quit complaining just because you don't use an update. I'm sure a ton more people don't use lapis, did they go and complain about it? Well, probably.
So I see that update 1.5 will be dedicated to Redstone. I think this is ridiculous! How many people really use Redstone? I think this update may cover at least 50% of the population of minecraft. I mean how many people are really going to know how to use all this new stuff added to Redstone!?! I don't even know where to begin to counter your arguments, especially considering that everyone covered everything.
You're not only saying that just because you don't use Redstone, few others do as a result (completely ignoring what others said about YouTuber Redstoners and their subscribers), but you're pulling fake and impossible statistics to back you up... somehow. Like someone said already, a 4.1 GPA is impossible...
And I think somewhere in that Text Block of yours, you said that "a lot of people" in this thread agree with you. I mean come on, in one page, you can see that the vast majority of replies completely shattered your argument over and over again...
And of course you tried to swear because you haven't figured out yet that it looks like you randomly stuck a group of two letters in your post due to the site cutting it out...

+1! I even got 13w01b!
