1.8 was a massive updates that added new blocks, structures, mobs, and commands. Would you like would 1.9 to be as massive as 1.8 or would you like it to be smaller like 1.5 (the red stone update)?? Keep in mind a larger update would take more time.
i wish we get an update that actual adds useful features to the game doesn't take a whole year that adds nothing and only adds game breaking lag to the game (am talking about you 1.8 the lagful update)
but please lord gaben smack some sense into mojang

i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife,big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed

In 1.8 there was a so huge content to assimilate and discuss that people is still crying. The good things about it were kind of overwhelmed by complaining and whining around some details and lag issues.

I don't like it when updates take way too much time to make, but I do really like large updates. So the inbetween is something like 1.5. I don't like long waits like the wait from 1.2.5 to 1.3.

Also a fps boost would be nice, I never understand why minecraft has such high system requirements .
Its not Minecraft that isn't optimized, its Java. Java is very bulky and usually requires higher-end computers to run properly. Don't forget how it eats up all of your RAM.
That has nothing to do with 1.9. Besides, my PC doesn't lag. It all depends.
It also depends on how you tamper with custom world generator settings. For instance, I have a pc that averages 700 fps on minecraft, but struggled to reach 25 when I made a world with a village that had half-generated houses, due to the fact that the upper half went above the 256 blocks above bedrock limit.

Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? 1.9 will probably include shader-based rendering, which will give a decent performance boost, especially for people who use relatively recent hardware. So stop complaining about lag everyone, Mojang is working on it.
I don't really care about the size of 1.9, the only thing I really want is the plugin update, so I can finally create mods that don't break with every update and with a decently (hopefully) documented API. But off course, it would need more conten than that to keep vanilla players happy.

This thread is discussing the size that people want 1.9 to be. If people continue to post their wish lists of what they want to see added to 1.9, the thread will be locked. If people have ideas for what they want 1.9 to contain, they can post their ideas in the Suggestions forum section.
I like a good update, each update is huge in its own way. We all wanted redstone, and new things in the ocean. Its just all perspective and opinion.
I liked all the updates, but some people don't. I thought the update was huge, and other people don't think that its huge. Its just a gamble if everyone would like it.

I would like it to be big! I use snapshots, so even if it takes a long time for some people, its like getting a small update every week! and I love it!
one thing I honestly don't understand, is why people say that minecraft is adding too much, or when people say they should stop adding updates. who doesn't like new things!?
